Bye Bye Prinsu Roof Rack.

Taking off my Prinsu Roof Rack and LED lights. I just don’t used it enough in the year I’ve had it, and the wind noise is a lot and it definitely lowers my MPG. I’m in Orlando FL so not much for over-landing here - and I think I can accomplish the same goals with some Billie bars.

I’m gonna get to work on this over the next month or so. If anyone has an interest in taking it off my hands shoot me a DM and I’ll keep in touch with you as I move forward. Heretic Bar, Rock Lights, Roam awning all gonna go.

 

I have been thing about a prinsu rack. Sadly I am not close to Florida but do I wanna ask is the wind noise and mpg loss really that bad?

 

I've got basically brand new Billie bars May be up for a trade. Just after I purchased them I traded truck in on one with a topper. Is the prinsu noisey like factory rack or worse?

 

What lights do you have on the rack? I’ve been looking for some.

 

I have never had a factory rack, but I’d imagine worse. I have inserts in all the mounting slots in the rails and that helped reduce wind noise a lot. Everyone says prinsu is quiet as far as racks go, but you still know it’s there.

 

Heretic 40 inch on the front and Baja Designs rock lights on the sides mounted in the handles.

 

The OEM cross bars fold back when not in use, hence wind noise is not an issue if you’re not carrying a load. I’m quite happy with my OEM RR… for looks and functionality.

 

On my Prinsu rack the noise is very loud if the wind deflector was not install.
My MPG goes down when I use winter blend gas, here in MN winter gas sucks and Tacoma hate cold temp.
I am at 18-19 MPG vs Summer 20-21 MPG with Prinsu rack on all year.

 

Turn up the radio.

 

How much for the handles with and without the lights

 

And get louder tires..

 

but where will you store your empty pelican cases?

 

I’m not really wanting to part it out.
