you can't beat a truck that's been paid off. I got a really good trade in value on my taco, that's one of the reason i pulled the trigger on the 4runner.

10 days ago I did the same thing.... I will miss my 2011 Tacoma DC 4x4 TRD Sport but the 4Runner TRD Pro is just in another league all together. The interior is just on another level and the ride is awesome. I'm sure I will miss the bed at some point but I have a trailer if needed. I've owned two Tacoma's and they are great trucks but like others have said, they've fallen behind in some areas. Competition will help get things going and I'm sure the next generation will address some of these issues but I've always wanted a 4Runner and the TRD Pro just smacked me in the face and said take me home. This is by far the best owners forum I've ever seen and I to will always be checking in. Here is my new ride...

that sure is a nice ride. i just couldn't justify paying that much more for a trd pro. if money was not an object i would definetely got a trd pro. did you have to wait very long to get that?

Thanks! No, it was on a lot here in Birmingham. I was actually looking on their website to see if they had a Tacoma Pro and saw the 4Runner TRD Pro. I decided to go look at it just because I've always wanted one. Went and looked at it and it was awesome. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was too busy at work to do anything but think about it and I figured by the time I could go back down there it would be gone. A week later I had some time and I couldn't believe it but fate was on my side. It was still there so I knew it was for me. The dealership is in a part of town that doesn't get your normal well to do kind of crowd all the time but they are a great dealership. I believe that had it been at a couple of other dealerships in the area it would not have lasted two days. It took some haggling on my trade of course because they are out for them but my Tacoma held it's value very very well. I also got some off MSRP. I know most won't believe that but I don't care. They wanted it sold and the deal was made. I also negotiated the 7yr/100000 mile warranty. I've had a grin on my face ever since. I'm sure you are doing the same when you drive your great looking 4Runner. They are just so well put together and they offer so much more....All that said though, I will miss my Tacoma. I really loved that truck and hope that they make it more modern etc in the future. I think they have to. I'm also on the T4R.org forum. It's good but not as good as TW! My username there is 4RunnerPro.

I went from a 2011 4Runner trail to a Tacoma and wouldn't go back. Congrats!

Good luck. I sold my 1994 4-runner for my TACO last year. My 4-runner NEVER gave me an issue after 19 years. Bidding war on eBay when I sold it as it was in excellent condition.

Would love the 4runner in my driveway, but cheapest I'd want is an SR5 with at least a $35k price tag and up from there (vs my sr5 prerunner at $27k). Plus 4wd is not essential for me and ordering a 2wd "4runner" seems wrong. As far as I've seen, all 4Runners have final assembly in Japan.
    Congrats.

I did the opposite in 2007 going from a '95 4 runner to a new Tacoma. The new 4Runners are much better handling than the older gens and have a Bold look to them. They're nice, no doubt. A little out of my price range though.

    not a lot
I have a 2001 4runner and bought a 14 DCSB O/R that was intended to replace the 4runner. So far the 4 runner is still sitting on my driveway. I can't seem to let go, but seeing this thread is giving me some ideas.

Hmm. Trade in the Tacoma for a TRD pro T4R and let go of my 3rd gen T4R.

i felt kinda sad when i gave up my keys at the dealership. you do grow with your ride specially since you had it since day one.
