Wait till you have to change the spark plugs! My dad had to today and the ford dealership wanted $1000 for it! Raffield tires did it for $450.

Still a lot of money though!

aside from my taco and tercel, only chevy's would do it for me. Best of luck with that ford and having your model replaced in a couple of years.

No consideration to the Tundra?? (sry, didnt read every page of post if already discussed)

Good luck with the truck man.
For the HATERS, I would like to see YOU go to the dealership, put 30 k for a new truck and then have to go to the dealership 11 times in 8 months to fix problems. And can't take it on the weekends because the techs don't work on the weekends. So loose hours and hours of work. I used to do the same, every time that my old truck broke down, the only difference is that now I have 25k less in my checking account.

    .
Sorry about your problems with your Tacoma. I have had 4 or 5 new Tacomas and all of them were super trucks.

Yes, I did have the TSBs done, but at least Toyota fixed the stuff and made it right.

The Ford F-150 is just to big for me and my needs now and the present Ford Ranger is a very old design )new design coming soon).

Good luck with your new F-150, and yes, that new 5.0L has gotten some great reviews and I hope that it holds up as well as predicted.

Overall, I have much better luck with Toyota Tundras and especially Toyota Tacomas than their American counterparts.

I bought a 2011 Tacoma and am selling my "Cherry 2009 Tacoma" and it is bringing just a few thousand less than I paid for it new. :D
You can't do that with a Ford, Chevy or especially a Dodge.
IMO, the only main thing that Dodge has going for it is the Cummins diesel which is the finest diesel for a any pickup at this point.

None yet, other than wheels :)
    Don't blame him...

Ford came out with a V6 that has 100hp more than ours AND gets better MPG and you can get a decent new 2011 f-150 right now for cheaper than a new taco, with better towing and a nicer and more spacious interior.

I'd just be a little wary of ford's new engine, there's bound to be some kinks that need to be worked out on it.

Can you imagine if they put a comparable engine (to the eco-boost) in the tacoma?:laugh::laugh:

Isn't a full size like an F150 with only a V6 going to be a dog?

Is this V6 available on a truck with the same features as my Tacoma...? Or do you have to get a stripped down fleet-style truck..?

I was looking at the bags but didn't want to screw with the stripped fitting you mentioned in your for sale ad.

Maybe take care of that and then sell? either way, good luck, and nice truck bud...

Good luck with the Ford.. They have made great strides. Now if they redesign the Ranger they may steal some more Toyota mavens. Toyota is struggling to maintain their reputation in the face of the onslaught of quality from Domestic builders.

Resale will still be there......but only if the Tacoma proves worthy of it going forward. You cannot live on the past forever It works both ways........(see Hyundai)
