With all that is being said, l can't see how this modification would hurt at all. Plus, if it helps in any way, then I'd say that's a win!

I know what you mean

I've done the same thing, but it always made so much sense at the time.

What’s the part number on the bypass filter? I can tell it’s a Donaldson.

The Donaldson filter that came with the kit is P564967.

I will probably change oil, and OEM filter every 7K. It could be pushed further beyond that, but I don't see a need. Oil is cheap.

The bypass filter I plan to change every other oil change. So every 15K miles or so.

Just to be clear for others, you are not referring to the Pareto Point bypass filter, but your personal set up, correct?

I ask, because the Pareto set up is using the OEM oil filter as the "main filter", and a Donaldson filter as bypass.

According to the documents included with the kit, the (Donaldson) Bypass filter is to be changed less frequent than the main (OEM) filter... which in my mind makes logical sense. It has a larger volume, and is only seeing a fraction of the amount of fluid as the Main filter.

yes I did not specify I apologize. I’m using the fs-2500. That sort of makes sense but also with more filtration the quicker the filter will “plug up”. I changed mine bypass more frequent the first time and now the oil looks as clean as it came out of the jar
