    I have the 265/70 17s and they're the non e rates ones. No power loss or any mpg loss and the ride is better than stock. They're not as mushy and do way better off road. Once I get my truck lifted and these wear out I'm probably going to get another set in a 285 because they've been that good. The tread depth on the non e load is one of the best out there.

    V6 in my 1st gen and it still gets of the line pretty good with my 285's




    Not that it was a 10 second truck to begin with but you catch my drift

    Damn, those are 265's? They look really good, is that with any lift? So if they are the non-E rated tires I am assuming they are the SL's? I wonder how much weight I'd be able to carry before it makes sense to go to a load C tire vs SL.

    Im not so much worried about the quickness, I am more so worried about the MPG loss if its significant or not. What 285's do you have?

    Yeah they're 265s but theyre big because of the deep tread! No lift I just put 5100s on front set at .85 to level the front to compensate for my skids. The load rating on them is higher than what you could safely carry in your truck anyways so I'm not worried.

    The 285's looks like it only comes in an E rated tire, but its "only" 51 lbs. That seems pretty light compared to other E rated tires.

    Yeah once you go to a 285 there isn't many choices besides an e rated but 51 lbs isn't bad for one. Once I go to that size anyways I'll be losing mpgs anyways since my truck isn't a pavement princes. It already has a full set of skis and will have sliders in month and then a plate bumper and a winch.

    Not sure where they got the info. The cooper website only lists this size in and E rated tire. I've played with LT & P rated on my 1st gen Tundra and there is a big difference between the P rated and the C rated. My Taco Pro has D rated tires from Toyota. I'm going to put those tires on the Tundra (work truck) as it needs tires and go with P rated tires on the Taco. The difference between the C's and the P rated was huge regardless of what folks say. P's are a bit more mushy, but a much nicer ride for a mainly street driven truck. The Tundra sees a lot of dirt / gravel roads and 4wd in pastures etc with 0 failures...The 8 plys on the Taco are simply stiff, even when running them at 30psi vs the factory 41psi. Much better at 30psi, but still stiff.

    So it sounds like P rated tires for what I want to be doing (daily driver with moderate overland trips in the future) wouldn't be sufficient enough? Sounds like C is best of both worlds.

    Depends on what you will be driving on. We just did a 2k trip in Ca, NV, Utah, & Arizona. Some of the folks had P rated tires with no issues. The main issue with P rated is if you will be rock crawling and running low pressures as the sidewalls can get cut easier than most LT tires. If you have 17" rims you can find quite a few C rated and P rated tires. 16's are tougher to find C's & P's for with most being 8-10 ply. My Taco is mainly street / trail driven and is not used for hardcore stuff so it will get P rated tires. They work well in snow, sand, and gravel road type stuff. If you can find C rated they will be nicer on the road than D or E rated. The advantages of P's are better mileage and less unsprung weight so the suspension works a bit better on a stock truck. If you build up a rig and choose springs and shocks to deal with the heavier tires they work fine, but the lightest tire / wheel combo will always perform the best.

    Thanks for the response, I will be upgrading my suspension to the Toytec Boss system most likely, so will that help if getting a E rated tire?

    You're going to take a hit no matter what by going to an E rated tire especially if its an aggressive one. The only real thing you can do is regear the axels but I don't think they have any gears out for our trucks.

    I don't mind a hit in MPG if it's not crazy, I'm just more concerned about ride quality and thinking with my suspension upgrade hopefully it wouldn't be as bad as people make it sound.

    I just ordered those same wheels. They are scheduled to arrive on Thursday. Made an appointment for Friday afternoon to get KO2's in 265/70/17's installed. Anyone wanna buy my stock TRD Sport Wheels and tires with less than 600 miles on them? :)

    Looks like the General Grabber AT2's, can see the little holes for the optional stud placement. They do look a lot bigger than most the other pictures I see with 265/70/17 however.

    The hit you take will very on how you drive, the weight of the tires and how aggressive (rolling resistance) they are so its hard to know. They're going to be a lot stiffer than stock and some people like that but there's been members that get rid of their E rated tires because the ride is too rough.
    Yes they do look really similar to the BFGs! I looked into them but based off of the awesome reviews these got not only on here but on other websites as well and the price on these I had to give them a shot and I love them. They also have a deeper tread than the BFGs if I'm not mistaken.
    Yes I agree they look larger than most 265/70/17s and it might because of how deep the tread is on these compared to a lot of other all terrain tires. I love how they look.

    Have you checked to see how it affected speedometer needle or digital speedo? Did it have any impact? I know one is off a bit from factory.
