    Personally, I’m enjoying the banter. To get back on subject, it seems like there are good reasons to get either load of tire. Just have to figure out what’s most important to you and go for it.

    I’m running 235/85 16 falkens - E rated. I like them for off-road and towing. They are stiff.

    Personally, I would go LT LR C if you can. I refuse to use D/E since they do not conform to objects very well and ride like crap on a lighter vehicle.

    Recently my Sticky 40" MTR's were at the end of life. Five seasons of thrashing rocks...felt pretty good about it. I couldn't find any race teams that had them anymore and go figure, not made. So off to look at 39-42" tires. I also wanted a tire I could buy rather quickly in an emergency and drop the 650.00 per tire. The research started. I watched some pretty well built buggies running Maxxis Treps 39" and 42". Wasn't impressed and they take forever to break in. The Treps are the stickiest tire you can buy, but the sidewalls and weight just kill the performance. I decided on BFG Reds, 39/13.5/17 C.

    Not sure why people think a LT LR C will shred off-road? I'm sure there are plenty of people on here that wheel pretty hard. So do I and never had a problem.

    17” wheels here I come! Along with some C rated tires. Thanks for the reply. For the E lovers out there. Keep an eye out for some SCS ray 10’s in the 16” flavor along with some 285/75r16 BFG KO2’s with less than 10k miles on them.

    I have a Jeep that first ran Goodyear MTRs that were C rated, and went up 1" tire size to E rated and I honestly didn't notice any difference in ride quality, as I had been told to expect.

    Haven't even heard of them to be honest. And Michelin owns/makes BFG tires and that's what I've always ran. I get 30% off on all Michelin/BFG products. I looked at the LTX AT2's and they look more like a street oriented AT tire.

    They are. But they also come E rated in some sizes. Just thought I would mention it depending on your dirt versus pavement needs.

    if youre in the market for a e rated tire but are hesitant due to road comfort than check out General Grabber AT/X Tires. They incorporate a "Comfort Balance Technology". Makes a huge difference compared to a similar e load tire like the BFGs. Even more comfortable than the stock P tires that the truck came with.

    I think SLs are a lot more capable than people give them credit for, I've had mine on loads of fairly rocky/rooty trails and haven't had a sidewall puncture yet. Maybe they just aren't sharp enough out here.
