miss my SS LS3 camaro, starting a family, never really had time to drive it anymore. In a few years when truck is paid off, gonna go for a nice c6z. c8's are just way to acrura nsx for me personally. Dream car would be a 97 supra tho.

I would never ever buy a 1st generation GM .
There's a reason why GM trashed the Fiero. Unlike the Italians, GM never figured the overheating and chassis problem.
The delay on the unveiling of this thing was due to stress fractures on chassis and dialed back A LOT of power to keep it from doing so. Again , GM and rear engine is an oxymoron.
I'd HIGHLY suggest you buy the LONGEST warranty you can on that thing.
GM has a bad streak of failures on 1st gens.

The corvette is twisting frames, might want to wait on the next year or two. Selling your truck for an all out performance car? Neither do anything alike. That’s an expensive car and being a first gen will probably spend a lot of time in the shop for recalls. My advice, if you buy one have a second more reliable vehicle to drive daily. My Porsche is a tank but I like knowing that if something happens I have another driver.

The Supra, one day for that very reason, will be a collector.

One more thing. My $23k used Porsche gets more attention than any corvette simply because there’s one on every block. I owned an older one and it was fast but handled like shit. My Porsche is telepathic, I don’t even have to try to drive it.

I almost bought a used 2001 911. That is, until while researching the car before purchase I came across this quote in the signature of one of the members of that forum who had many more posts than almost all of the other members. It read, "There nothing more expensive than a cheap Porsche." Because of the number of post he had I figured he probably knew what he was talking about. I know yours is bulletproof, but this one sat above a large oil stain on its garage floor.
Still want one, but I think I'll wait until the 2006> variant comes down to where I can afford one.

I've got an Audi TT RS right now, along with my Taco.

Game plan for now is to hold onto the Audi until it goes out of service plan and warranty in 2022, and then probably get a C8. Hope the Z06 is out by then. :fingerscrossed:

While it is the prettiest Vette, the Vette of today is so much better than the C2s or any other.

This car is going to be a monster. Even with the "wimpy" introduction model with only 490hp, it will be a bad machine. When they introduce the REAL monster version with stupid horse power, it'll really be crazy.

The corvette is one of the few cars that almost every model makes me fall in love with it, it is the 911 of the united states plus it made in Kentucky.

I think GM is making a mistake my building a mid engine super car and calling it a Corvette. It will not compete with what they are trying to make it and it will be plagued with issues. Though my C6 is not fun to work on it is simple enough once you get it in the air. In essence the corvette has been discontinued and replaced with a mid engine super car and many enthusiast will see it this way also. GM will try and keep the price point in line with the current vette and it will greatly lack in comparison to it's competition. What makes the car great is you can find them for a good price a generation or two removed from current and they are a lot of bang for the buck. Also you do not expect to perform with the mid engine rivals that cost five times as much because of the design but for what it is it offers a lot. Call it what you will but the corvette as we know it is gone and they have sold the pedigree to what will be a flop. This is just brand whoring.
