Right. That's why it's called an opinion. I didn't bring up the camaro. You did. I said I'd have an NSX.

You brought up the NSX in a c8 corvette thread, as if it was the better car. This is all while the outdated NSX can’t even get out its own way when compared to the c8’s little brother.

I will watch and wait on the C8. I wanna see one one for myself, drive it, and wait 12 months to see what issues are reported. No way I’m gonna be an early adopter on that car.

Yes, a Tacoma and a Corvette is a hard combination to beat as both are fine vehicles and amazing to drive in totally different ways.

I'd wait until at least the 2022 model, giving GM a year to find the issues and another to correct them. A Z06 version will probably be out by then.

One of my coworkers preordered one from Kerbeck Chevrolet in New Jersey. He had to pay sticker, but he only has a rough estimate of when it will be built, and doesn't even have a VIN yet!

There are just as many of us that the old Vette didn't appeal to, that are salivating to get this car. The first year sold out before the first production car was built.

Remember, there was a time that Italian exotics were ALL front engine. It was a long time ago, but they figured it out.

And really, the Fiero wasn't a total POS. Did it have issues, sure. But they got them ironed out, and many of them made 200k miles.

Furthermore, Kia is making really good cars these days. Everyone is.

The base 2020 goes 0-60 quicker than ANY previous Corvette. And there will be Z06/ZR1 caliber versions.

Do not pose your perception of an emotion as a question and expect me to validate it. Also, simply because you ask a question does not mean I am required to answer it.

Perhaps we were referring to the 2019 NSX.

I think over the last several pages people are missing my point. First GM is trying to appeal to a younger buyer, okay. I get that but they will not be able to afford the car as it is not a practical daily and they will struggle to insure it. Furthermore they are high maintenance cars so they cost a fair amount to repair and this will design will greatly increase that. Super rich younger people buy more exotics, this is the blue collar sports car that blue collar guys work to get to a point to buy. That normally happens in your 40's or so. The sales of the Vette show what they always have and with a lot of competition from cars that are an average of 20k - 30k less it is to be expected that the Vette would sell 15 - 20 thousand a year at max. There is less than 10 years in it's history it has really outsold that number.

Now, GM can do a front engine sports car well, they have struggled in the past with mid engine designs and has one of the worst tech and electrical backgrounds on the market. Also GM struggles with quality control more than most manufacturers so this all bids that this design will be plagued with problems. Everyone is boasting about supposed #'s the C8 is going to reach but they have not actually been verified and due to some MAJOR issues the car has already been delayed some time in its release. Problems with electrical and the sub frame twisting to the point of shattering the rear window. One of the reasons it is being released 300HP less than they originally specked it at is to help resolve this and get it on the market.

Until this car comes out and proves itself everyone here that has a hard on for it can spout off whatever you like. The fact remains that the car must perform and all signs point to that probably being an issue. 50 - 60 thousand is not a price point that works for a car with this design and the consumer and poor bastards that go out and buy this thing because of the hype that people like you all create will suffer for it. Meanwhile I will cruise by the shop in my C6 while the C8 owners are sitting on there couch waiting for the money pit they invested in to get a recall or repair. To be fast it has to be on the road and working.

A mid engine design is extremely expensive to work on and maintain. Talk to any owner of a true exotic and it cost them an average of $5 a mile to run it. The reason the Corvette works is because blue collar people can get one and they can wrench on it in the garage and they cost about a dollar a mile to run and if you keep the miles low you can enjoy them for a long time at a reasonable cost. The C8 is not that car.

I don’t expect anything from you. This conversation is voluntary. You seemed a bit aggressive, a bit too emotionally involved. Hence, why I asked what I did.

You don’t have to answer, but I can still ask.

I am emotionally involved. I have had these cars my whole life and I do not like seeing the brand I have invested in thrown in the trash in my opinion. Having made that statement I do not have an issue with other not agreeing but facts are facts and I caution anyone who wants to go out and get one of these things.

You can marry a super model but if she refuses to fuck you all you can do it look at it.

With the continuation of the GM strike and no end in sight, manufacturing of the new Corvette has been significantly delayed. GM is contemplating making it a 2021 model. They are already on back order and capacity to fulfill orders is already compromised by the plant itself.

    woah

    lots of emotion there!

I am not quite sure why the negativity for this car. Has GM had issues with past vehicles? Sure. But then again, so has Ford and Toyota.

Corvette has always been a solid product regardless of whatever gremlins it might have had. Corvette has always given you super car performance at blue collar price. Now, corvette not only gives you super car performance but also gives you an “exotic” at an UNREAL price point.

There is no other car in the market that will compete with the c8 at its price-point. Not even close.

GM has brought an exotic to the masses. Whether you like it or not, that is a fact that no one can dispute.

    good luck with the c6!
