    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Ya, and things like tuning engines (to make them more efficient, because that's the way the tune makes them more powerful) is totally going to cause the smog issue to get worse.

Just like adding a cold air intake with no sticker, that's exactly the same as the other cold air intake that does have a sticker sitting on the same work bench... is going to make the smog get worse.

Or replacing a gas tank with a fuel cell is going to drape a layer of smog over LA.

Or swapping a NEWER MOTOR (fuel injected) from a Chevy to replace an OLDER MOTOR (carburated) from a Toyota Truck is going to make smog get worse.

The smog laws governing modifications have had almost ZERO impact on the smog situation. Advancements and higher efficiency in the new cars is what has had an impact on smog.

Alright, I spoke with my regular STAR cert. SMOG guy yesterday. I told him what I was doing for suspension and I need to replace my gas tank with a different GAS TANK to accommodate the 4 link. I showed him pictures of other prerunners that had similar set ups. I made it clear that I was going to either buy or have a GAS TANK made, not a fuel cell. I didn't even say fuel cell because that's not what I'm going to be installing. He said that if all the evap stuff and charcoal canister is installed just how it would be stock, he doesn't care and that he doesn't even look at the gas tank.

    That sounds reasonable.

I agree with most of that but people abuse it. There are good tunes and bad tunes. For example, OVTuned refuses to offer ultra lean tunes because of increased NOX despite getting better fuel economy. From what OP said in his last post, it doesn't sound like the fuel cell is that big of a deal as long as the emissions equipment is installed with the new system.

Ya sounds about how my Smog guy was with my F150 tank behind the rear axle. I just scabbed all the Toyota stuff into the new tank, works like stock! They have bigger (deeper mainly) tanks too, up to 25 gallons I believe.

I mean, I'm not, but okay.

Do you know what inflation is?

You also realize that the gas tax isn't the only way roads and infrastructure are paid for, right?

"I had a friend" that could get it done via SMS back about 6 years ago. Pretty sure they found 'em on CL.

No write up really. Just follow these easy steps

    Buy F150 tank
    Cut out F150 pump mount
Buy sheet metal and weld in place of F150 pump mount
Cut Tacoma flanges off the stock tank and weld to F150 tank
Cut fuel pump bucket out of the stock tank and weld to F150 tank
Shorten Tacoma fuel pump bracket and float arm

Or buy an F150 tank and F150 sending unit (with the built in baffle) but your gas gauge will read backwards.
