Bought a set of cab/marker/clearance lights from Cab Over America (caboveramerica.com) a couple weeks ago. This is a new company--their product has only been out for a few months since around January 2019. I had been looking forward to doing this mod for a long time. Basically they are cab lights that don't require drilling into your roof...and because of that they're a pretty penny ($398). Disclaimer: I received a $100 discount in exchange for a review of the item since it's a new company/product.

Unfortunately I had some shipping issues and never received the item. The company refused to send a replacement, so I am forced to leave a bad review. I recommend that you STAY AWAY from this company unless they demonstrate that they can stand behind their customers. I will update this review if the situation is resolved.

More details: I never received the cab lights I ordered. The tracking info states the item was delivered but I never got it. I assume it was stolen or delivered to the wrong address. The company neglected to insure the package. They also refused to send a replacement product. I cannot recommend a product I never received or a company that is unwilling to stand behind their product to protect their customers in the event of unforeseen shipping circumstances. Once again, I will be happy to edit this review if the company chooses to send a replacement item. I have even sent them the link to this post for total transparency. Thanks for reading.

Probably a scam. If they don't require drilling, that means they are not wired and run on like AAs or something and I would assume they would be activated through bluetooth OR they dont exist

Get a locking mailbox. That's what I did after having shit stolen. Bigger items get sent to drop box or someone who stays home.

Pretty... ummmmm.... ballsy, to offer a customer a discount in exchange for a review, then tell him to take a flying fork at a rolling donut when there's an issue with the order. :homer: Especially when I'm taking a WAG they're probably paying $50 or less for 5 battery-powered lights and some generic remotes straight from China.

Reason #2 that EVERYTHING I can buy with plastic, goes on plastic. I deal with customer service 50 hours a week, I'm a pretty reasonable and understanding guy, but screw me over and you're getting hit with a chargeback. Only had to do it a few times in 16 years, but my success rate is 100%.

agreed fb40dash5! flying fork at donut lol. pretty much. yeah paypal customer service policy sucks compared to the credit cards. learned the hard way...paypal autodeclined (read: no human involved) my claim because the post office marked the package "delivered."

I'm hoping the cab light company realizes that saving a couple benjamins on ONE package isn't worth hurting their reputation in the long run.....

Was about to order a set of them cab lights but changed my mind after reading this. Can't their customer service department send you a replacement?

The phrasing above should have sent off major alarm bells, op. Chinese companies that use generic translations to describe their product (very! High quality! Exclaimation point!), as a rule of thumb, do not have any sort of customer service department.

I'm not judging on that alone, I buy Chinese stuff all the time, but I at least make sure that it's at Chinese prices. Because half the crap I buy winds up breaking, and there's no returning it to China when it does.

Case in point. Sales and brand reputation on the whole are always more important in the long run than saving a few bucks in the short run. Isn't the #1 rule of customer service that the benefit of doubt always defaults to the customer?

True, Rock Lobster, but they're based out of Eugene, Oregon and have a legit fb page and youtube videos to validate

Ah, I didnt see that until you mentioned it. I looked up the Eugene address, it belongs to a used car lot with some rather colorful reviews. Good luck on your resolution.

been dealing directly with the owner, Scott Monroe, over email. needless to say, he is what one might call a *total* a$$hole. and you are right about the colorful reviews....some amusing ones here...

file a complaint with the post office as well, sad to say but some deliveries get marked as delivered and aren't. Had that same issue with more than one PO short timer. Locking mailbox also adds weight to any
    PO complaints.

Thanks bagleboy. Yeah seems usps isn't the most reliable out there. Tried filing for missing package but they don't even allow claims if the package wasn't insured. Crazy
