Cab mount chop. I'm dumb and confused.

So ordered my plates, came with a template that for the life of me is not making any sense. I've seen the total chaos YouTube video on this mod and makes perfect sense.

Contacted the company and in the end I was told they don't even use the templates?

The straight line of the template should go along the bottom of the truck. Driver side is top of template then turn it over for the passegerside or vice versa. That is my take on the template.

 

Well isn’t that just nice for them. Of course they don’t they do this every day. Watch the videos you found, study the plate against the cab mount and figure it out without the template. If you go slow and pay attention, it’ll be hard to fuck up. You could still fuck it up though. Just don’t.

There are two templates with the plates and I understand the flat goes on the bottom etc. I've been stumped by a piece of paper

Typically we throw the paper away, drink a beer, fire up the grinder with a cut off wheel and start trimming the metal piece in the back of the wheel well. Just remember you can always cut more but a tad more difficult to add back. Lol

 

Can always wrap twine around the plate to get a diameter measurement and transfer it to the cab mount to get an idea of how far back yourr going. Cut short and open up as needed
