    Angle grinder works like a charm. Harbor Freight for 20 bucks. I still need to weld mines.

    It sounds like an angle grinder is the way to go from what I've been hearing. There is one in town so I may actually go and pic one up :D. What kind of wheels do I need - these?

    You'll need the 4 1/2" x 1/8" x 7/8". One is all you need for the job. I think only Home Depot carries the cutting wheel. Harbor Freight doesn't have the one you need.

    They're not thick enough. The grinder requires cutting wheels at least 1/8" thick. Home depot sell singles, one for 1.89 or something like that. BTW, you don't need ten.

    Jump up to 305s and wheel the shit out of it and then let me know :D. Mine rub bad, especially with the 3.6" backspaced wheels I got.

    when it comes to warranty, the mod has to prove to be the cause of the deficiency..what ever the defect is...so if your cab falls off in an accident then yes..they may have a case against you...

    there is multiple cab mounts on the vehicle. these 2 being chopped affects nothing. also all the metal that is on the outer edge of the cab mount is useless...cutting it and PROPERLY capping it off hurts nothing.

    I'll pay to have mine welded, not chopped though. The chopping part is pretty much straight forward.

    I thought about chopping myself. But, after cutting my own bedsides for my high clearence bumper, I'll pass. Bedside are much thinner sheet metal and i went through at least 8 cutoff wheels. My DeWalt angle grinder I don't think could handle the body mount.

    The body mount is THICK, and it's easier to work with. The trick is, don't over cut. Cut a little less than what you want and then use a thicker cutting wheel to grind down to perfection.

    I was thinkin about taking more off but I only wanted to take as much off as necessary. When I take it offroad I'll find out if I need to take more off. I also didn't want to compromise the integrety by taking off too much.

    Definitley looks pretty. I was going to cut more towards the outside portion but in looked to be a pain in the ass and didn't look necessary. If I ever rub there, I'll just take the grinder to it again.

    It looks like they removed the bottom portion of the cab mount on yours, but can't really tell from the pic.
