I bought a 1996 club cab 4x4 Tacoma for a frame donor for my 2000 Tacoma club cab 4x4.

how much do the complete cabs weigh minus the front sheet metal?
I need to know so I can buy an a frame if I have to.

I plan on lifting it off the frame with the 4x8 roof support beams in my shed.

the black donor truck has over 300,000 miles and has been rolled over, the front differential has no bearings left in the thing, the rear axle makes noise, the motor has a slight tick from the bottom end, and the transfer case is wasted, the truck took a grand total of 1 gallon of gear oil to top everything off except the front diff as the plug was stripped out.

it’s also going to donate the front clip.

The frame under the silver truck has broken three times and is going to need some more work this summer and I scored the black truck for only $1,000 and the frame under it has stickers on it still and paint left as well.

I know I’m going to have to move the motor mounts as the donor has the 2.7 and the silver truck has the 3.4.

both trucks are manuals and I know I’m going to have to use all the wiring out of the silver truck as I’m going to use the drivetrain and the suspension from it as it is all in good shape and the front suspension only has about 20,000 miles on it.

are there any other issues I will run into?

and does anybody want the transmission from the black truck as it is smooth as butter and makes no noise.

Also for anyone who cares the struts and steering rack from a 3rd gen 4Runner will bolt right into a 1st gen Tacoma except for the outer tie rods.
