Theres an insidious side to them though.. I ran out into a field once full of them with a girlfriend- it was a whole swarm of them and it was beautiful.. her hair flowing in the wind waving her arms as she ran around in slow motion calling out “lady bugs, lady bugs!” to them, but then panic and screaming ensued as she called out and ran towards the car in apparent pain “ahhh, lady bugs are biting me!” Yeah, it was something else seeing the welts they left, but we had a good laugh about it afterwards.

Reminds me I'm about ready for a fresh filter and ac clean again. There's so much dust and pollution in the air here in AZ that I can't imagine not using a cabin filter. I run my air on recycle all the time with the windows up and the ac runs almost year round too.

I don't use my air conditioning at all unless my wife is in the truck which is seldom. Its to hard for her to climb up in. I never check my cabin filter and during an oil change recently I told the guy to go ahead and take a look on my 2017 with less than 30000 miles. When he showed me the filter I thought to myself good grief. That thing was caked with fur. nut shells, and leaves. I will change it as needed and check it every year now. That filter kept all of that crap out of everything else.

I removed those annoying stickers on the sun visor.
Exactly what I was wondering! Thanks! The older vehicles I grew up with never needed a cabin air filter, so I was curious if they're now needed to protect the newer systems, or if it's strictly for passenger comfort.

That's amazing! My mom tells of finding a ladybug nest like that in my grandpa's attic when she was growing up. I've been up there a few times as an adult, and never found one.

No, I'm going to keep it. If it was strictly for passenger comfort, I'd get rid of it, but the general consensus is that it protects the heater core and condenser.
