Cabin Filters.....Can they be washed? (Answer inside)

    Just the basics
    My mechanic wanted 40 for the filter and over 30 for the labor...I told him there was no way I was gonna pay that. Just ordered a few from the site below. Where do you get that plastic filter and frame?

    These suckers get dirty quick!!

    I have two filters that I swap back-n-forth. Pulled the original one at 10K miles. Put in a new one..... washed the original one.

    I'm at 19K miles and I just put the original (cleaned) one back in.

    Clean the other one and shelf it for another 10K miles. For me, that's yearly.

    Never knew about having no cabin filter in 05 until last week when dealership told me.:mad: They asked for $75 parts and install. I declined and bought one from Autozone for $30.

    After reading this post, I felt bad spending $30. I should have searched TW before jumping on this. :mad::mad: I would have saved some $ with DIY parts.
