Looking for feedback on 2013 Intakes, my issue also is that I am in California and there seems to be an issue with a Carb Filter, and I am hearing that will never be Cali legal, anyone with ideas?

Well you'll only have a problem come smog time...just change it back to stock.

If you want a true cold air get a URD intake

Why do you want a cai? The stock one is a cold air intake already since it get air from the fender well
All aftermarket intakes just make a lot of noise, that's all they do lol

    Won't help gas mileage.
    Won't help power.
    You already have a CAI.

Allow more dirt into your engine for sure.

    Yup.

It'll do something. Something you don't want.
The K&N drop-in is even worse than an aftermarket CAI.
All of the dirt, and none of the (minimal) restriction reduction.

Guys... buy your filters from Camelback Toyota, or Titus-Will.
Oil filters are about $4 and air filters are about $15.
The air filter can go 30-60k... so that's $15 every 18-36 months.
The CAI will set you back enough cash to buy enough air filters for over 700,000 miles. The K&N drop-in and the cleaning kit will cost you enough to buy OEM filters for 100-200k

I wouldn't consider the stock air box a CAI by any measure since the air box itself sits on a hot engine and soak up the engine heat. So there goes that popular belief here on TW, the stock air box is a CAI

It pulls the air from the fenderwell area.
The only difference is the position of the filter.

The 2.7, the filter box sits on the fender, just like the FIPK.

If your stock intake draws air from under the hood, rather than drawing cold air, then your truck is either 30 years old or someone changed your intake.

Regardless, CAI makes no difference in MPG or power.
Warmer intake air can actually improve MPG. A couple of guys have done a "Warm air intake" variation on the deckplate mod where they run a hose from the deckplate to the exhaust manifold.

I wouldn't consider your blown scooped intake CAI by any measure since the piping and blower sits on a hot engine and soak up the engine heat. So there goes your belief that you have a CAI. ;)

Unfortunately, the K&N is, at least for '05-'11.
Not sure if they've gotten the approvals on the '12+
