Can someone point me in the right direction? I am thinking about getting the aFe Momentum GT with the scoop but cannot find any discussion on them or what CAI people like. I tried a search but was not vey successful and I am sure there has to be something here on them. I honestly suck at searching on forums.

Here is a post I found with the Momentum GT. Looks like the OP didnt have good results though at least performance-wise ... Most people in this forum stick to the OEM CAI. > https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/afe-momentum-gt-cold-air-intake-report-back.537436/

Cold air intakes are bullshit. It'll make it louder but nothing else. Put that money towards other stuff.

The Factory setup is already CAI, unless your goal is making noise then l would save the money for other mods.

Lol enjoy it. A few more hp can only occur at wide open throttle tho. So think... how often do I pin it to the floor?
During normal driving all the way to WOT, your engine management system will control air flow.
You will get more noise and noise drone at 70 mph. But hey.. your money.
I gotta ask... you came here wanting opinions. You already had your mind made up tho. Why even ask?

I was leaning heavily towards getting it but just wanted to hear what people had to say. Good, bad or indifferent. I really am just having fun with the truck and trying different stuff. I didn't do anything to my last truck so this time I am just going for it. I already put on the MBRP 3" turn down that is stupid loud but it makes me laugh. 2021 OR DCSB MT.

I love the way mine (TRD CAI) looks and sounds but that’s about it ... no performance gains noted.

I will probably look into a tune next. Again, I am not taking this thing to the drag strip and I realize advertised claims of HP gains contain 2 important words...........up to. This is a truck to me and not a sports car.

Bilsteins 5100s on the top setting, 4runner Gray TRD Pro Sema wheels, 285/70/17 Toyo AT3s, Sumo Bump stops, TRD exhaust, ECGS Clamshell bushing, 1/4 shim for the lean and one inch rear block, OEM Pro grill and garnish OEM TRD Skid plate, TRD CAI, Demon Brackets, Rigid Industries Pro fog lights, OEM Trail Rails sidebars, Diode Dynamics LED SL1 high and low beam lights, OEM Roof racks, Clazzio leather heated seats, Remote Start, TRD Pro shift knob, tinted windows, Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp for the headunit and sub and amp combo, OEM Puddle lights, OEM tailgate lock, OEM bed mat, LED interior lights, OEM blackout kit for letters, JLT catch can, upgraded 27F toyota True Start battery, Vleds led tail light kit with Pro tail lights, OEM Rave4 side mirrors with convex spotters, just to name a few mods.
I use the TRD CAI and pro exhaust. I think it helped the truck perform better, breath better and sound better. Keep in mind I did this in an afternoon, did I gain any horsepower,I don't know but it just feels smoother. I think coupled with my OV tune the truck is awesome. Drink because of a CAI, I don't think so. I have no drone which is caused by mufflers not a CAI. If you have the money,do it is all I say. Spend it how you want to spend it. I did it because I wanted to and it's what I wanted regardless of opinions. If I like it I will buy it
