Calamity tacos build thread that was for a tacoma but now is for a ford! crazy times we are in!

No damage done to the truck but we went to price chopper out here and my truck fits very snug in the spots. So my bumper if I pull into a spot is right on the line or right behind it by a smidg. Today we parked and were talking about what we were going to get for dinner. Some lady with her elderly mom and her kids pulls up in this ghetto Chrysler all beat to shit and I noticed oh they are not stopping? And then bump... She used my truck to determine where to stop and then back up to the right spot... I get out and confront her asking really? She gets out looks and starts to walk away it's fine right? No issues? Lady you just hit my truck... Yes the truck is fine but an apology is in order here... Is that really necessary? Uhh ya you hit me when I was parked and thankfully no damage to either out vehicles.... She proceeds to walk away until her elderly mother gets out the car asks me if everything is okay and then gives her an ear full to her daughter... Good lord!

 

Hopefully that got through to her!

I put a Retrax on my Taco a while back. Held up great. Found it’s match with Golf ball size hail and has some small damage from last spring now. It’s only as old as the truck. Looking for something for the Tundy but haven’t got super serious yet.

Nope not really from what I've read but gonna add them for just in case.

 

its a work in progress but its bolted onto the truck and is very sturdy and with the center no longer being there i can remove the cross bars so i can still load things into the truck.

i still have to extend the rack by about 14inches to make it longer. i can make it longer buuut i want the rack in-between the tie down points in the top of the bed which i still need to buy so the blanks are still in those spots!

 

Sounds to me like you need to buy some tools so you can start fabrication of the perfect rack!
