    You still have to cut through the shield to go all the way through the pipe. The shield is stainless steel which is harder. You can still cut through it but it will take longer and make a lot more noise.

    Try it and see how long it takes you.

    The saw would go most of the way through without getting near the stainless. Once the other side is cut, it’d be easy to wiggle the pipe and break it off.

    I know the goal is only to slow them down, but I’m not really sure this makes it that much slower.

    I’m planning on getting skids anyway though, so I’m sure the combination will slow them down.
