Also, what's the difference between 3D and 4D lighting? Debating on doing a light bar.

Saw the ambers @GHOST SHIP had the other week at Hungy Valley. Pretty sweet. Gonna order a set.

    Thanks in advance.

So the pictures are a 3d 7" and a 4d 7" both spot beams. The one with the more bubble look is the 4d. The bubble look is the optic which creates a intense spot beam and the optic makes the light beam stronger. With the 3d it's just a regular optic which will create a nicespot, but not as strong as the 4d. Thelumens are the same because it uses the same Cree LED chip. But the optics 4d make the beam stronger.
Hope that helps feel free to ask any more questions!

I'm sure it's possible, but I wouldn't recommend it for two reasons:
    1. the glare off the hood would be horrendous!
    2. the way the brackets mount to the bottom section of the hood hinge, you would have interference with the hood opening. I've seen another vendor that has mounts the attach to the top part of the hood hinge (the part bolted to the bottom of the hood) and that might work if you really wanted to try this. That way the light it basically attached to the hood itself and would move with the hood as you open it.
I'd be interested to see what that would look like though, even if I don't think it would be practical...

I had a bar mounted on my old ford explorer that was black in the same area but drilled 2 holes in the hood I didn't care and glare was never an issue with it but I see your point on hood interference so it wouldn't work

Just a thought. I imagine a truck driving at me with a light in that location would look pretty menacing though... Even in the rear view, I wouldn't want to piss that guy off... Haha!

Damn. Yeah, I saw the picture on your build thread. No note or message, just a picture of a rolled explorer. Glad you walked away from that one...

Ya I agree with Sergio. I think you would not be able to open up your hood and that's a huge problem. To be completely honest I don't want to even want to mess around with the mounts to fit a bar on there. I can help you out with the led light bar, but for the mounts for that I really don't want to get it into that. Sorry about that.

Yea I accidentally put that on there when I was still figuring out the site but yes that was my baby but doing 100 plus and trying to turn in a lifted truck doesn't ever go well it was crazy I almost cried when I saw it the next day

Yea no worries just thought It would look cool like it was on my explorer I do need some cheap pods for the DLB though
