Recently purchased a Tacoma that has aluminum rims / bigger tires than stock. My speedometer is about 3 - 5 mph slower than my GPS shows current speed.

Is there a way to calibrate the speedometer based on different (non-stock) wheels/tires?

Tacomas run 5mph slow on the speedometer compared to a gps, but the odometer is pretty accurate. The 2.7L 4wd has a gear in the x-fer case that can adjust readings by swapping in a different tooth count. I think the 4.0 transmissions come off the abs sensors. There is a add on electronic box that might do what you need. I don't recall the make.

Jet or hyper tech make calibrators, no idea how good they may be though

I figured it would be something like that. Not so important I have to spend money on!

You didn't mention what size you're running. I went from 265/70-16 to 265/75-16's and now my speedo matches exactly to my GPS...
