California Is On Fire And I Can't Wait For Winter

The Weather, The beaches, The surroundings, fishing, offroading, and mexico is right next door.

 

I remember the one a few months ago (I think), that was like, a 5.6 or so. I was watchin' something on TV with my mom, and our phone rang. It was my uncle in New Jersey asking if we were all right 'cause they saw on national news that we had a huge quake.

My mom and I looked at eachother like, "WTF? What earthquake?"

Didn't feel a damn thing...

Bonus......when Cali falls into the ocean, you'll be close to the beach!

 

hell ya, I've heard of people around hear actually buying land around Yuma just for that purpose... crazy people!!!!

 

We'd still be the best on earth.

Firefighters just put out another brush fire in south San Diego earlier today:

 

pretty sure i got some smoke up here from those fires down there

 

Given that "norcal" is a big place, haha, how far "nor" are you in "cal"? lol

not that i know of but you never know, i havnt watched any news lately so im not up to date

 

There was a memorial set up today at the community park across from my house for the firestorm we suffered through last October (fire started on October 21st, '07 - it reached our section of San Diego by 0400 on the 22nd). Of the 23 fires within those 30 days through California, the two biggest were within San Diego - the biggest, in my neighborhood. 1,500 homes were destroyed across the state; 1,100 were from our fire alone.








(The hill in the background was completely wiped out by the fire. Being that my house is directly on the other side, that's what we saw when we left that morning.)

I didn't take this picture, but this was that same hill, up in the parking lot of the condos below it. They're not in the picture, but the condos are to the left of the hill, out of view.

 

More fires in LA today, 'cause of the Santa Ana winds. Only 4% humidity down here earlier. Now it's up to 5/6%.
