someone needs to put those fires out already.

you would think that they could come up with a good way seeing how the ocean is pretty close. I mean, hell, they can put a man on the moon but cant figure out forest fires? wtf

Dry as hell vegitation, hilly / mountainous terrain (a lot of which is hella hard to get in / around), crazy-ass winds (80-100 MPH in some cases), smoke so thick you can't see 10 feet in front of you...

Not the easiest to put out fires. Combined with burecratic bullshit (the whole CALfire spotter deal, them not being able to fly at night, etc.), it's kinda gay.

They're just gettin' worse, though - as the years go on. More and more people are building in areas that are prone to these, and they'll just have to live with that. It's tough shit, but they need to deal with it if they choose to live there. (Like me! lol)

they can make an oil pipeline from alaska to the states, but cant make an oversized sprinkler system? might be expensive, but not as bad as losing tons of houses and keeping loads of FFs on call 24-7 for days on end.

i believe it can be done.

Fantastic job on those videos is all I have to say. Puts a human touch on them. It's not the houses. It's not the state of California. It's not the fires. It's the people. It's the Fire Fighters. It's the Police that bring that home to a lot of us.

Haha, nice. He's in Phoenix right now, though. Gets back just before my surgery on Tuesday.

Not that I know of. If it's not on SignOnSanDiego.com - it doesn't exist. (In San Diego, at least.)

    I'm out. Peace.
