Has anyone renewed their plates for a 2009 in California in the past few months since the rate up? Just trying to get a ballpark idea for my September renewal.

Just renewed mine in May, luckly active military only pays the licensing fee. But the initial price tag on that renewal was around $400

Thanks guys, and yes registration (aka renewal). I was just looking for 2009’s, as anything older will of course skew the price.

yeah mine was close to 400 too.

IIRC there was a thread that said that these trucks are considered "commercial" vehicles so the price was higher. Also, that the listed weight for these trucks is more than what it actually is. So if you take your truck to get weighed, and show that to the DMV, the rate will be lower. Can anyone verify this?

Mostly stock for now, I have added a cb radio, various cheap mods and I plan on adding aftermarket wheels and other items in the future.

That's one thing I don't miss about living in California. Here in Oregon it's about $50 for two years. I was prepared to pay a fortune when I first moved up here 15 years ago. Plus, the DMV is so easy to deal with compared to Ca. Man I hated going there.

    Just paid mine - $425 and it's a 2005. WTF?

FYI - I posted in another thread about this but I put a camper shell on and had it reclassified as an SUV. Eliminated the weight penalty of $200. Just waiting on my new plates and title.
