It's meant for people that use their bed for that purpose i.e. guys with cabovers on their truck the majority of the time. Not worth trying to get non commercial plates if you don't use the bed for habitation just to save a fraction of your reg fees. And from what I read you have to bring your vehicle to the DMV for an inspection which is just a quick look to confirm it meets the criteria.

Where you have no water, have no electricity, 1/2 the state is usually on fire, gas is $5.00 a gallon, and the state is run by lunatics.
    Hmmmmm.....

When it’s not on fire the weather’s nice…oh, and watch out for the poop.

Wrong on all accounts. It's OK to like where you live. I do. If I didn't, I would move. Simple.

Sounds like mixed information. Save money, don't save money. Sink , no sink. Inspection, no inspection.

I've been to every state and lived in many. They all have their own respective issues. It really depends upon what you wanna do for recreation and a living. And what you can afford. I've done pretty well so I can go wherever I want and I'm still here in California.

My hobbies/interests and California can no longer coexist. Used to living with no income tax, low property/sales tax, and the veteran benefits here in FL are top tier.

Can’t beat the CA weather though.

At 1.2% of purchase price, which includes delivery etc, I came up with 480.
They charge me 280 for my 67 Chevy K-20 4x4.

Actually I'm quite right. I'm 65 and lived the first 44 years of my life in SoCal. Was born in Burbank. Most of my family still lives down, so I'm still very in touch with what's going on.
Reservoirs there are at historic lows. You're in a historic mega-drought. In many cases they're so low that they can't even generate hydro electric power. People are ratting out neighbors if they think you water yer lawn to long, and call the water police.
They've been decommissioning coal/gas/nuclear power plants and trying to rely on wind/solar... Which oddly enough... When the sun goes down or the wind isn't blowing .. Don't work. You're buying power from other states, IF available. At hyper-inflated prices. You have rolling blackouts because of lack of power.
My sister has sent me pics of gas station price signs where gas is near/at/above $5.00 a gallon.
I can look at any news website from there and always find 3-4 headline stories about all the different stories.
The place IS run by lunatics. They're trying to recall the governor there right now because of mismanagement. And sever prominent positions in the City of L.A. government.
Oh and BTW, CA. is being overrun by smelly homeless people shitting in the streets and nobody does anything about it. And you have huge earthquakes. (I went thru the Sylmar & Northridge quakes).. And traffic is horrible on horrible roads and L.A. is still a smoggy mess.
CA. used to be a nice place.. 50 years ago. That's why I got out ASAP. Now days, when I hear gunshots, I know it's hunters and not rival gang-bangers.

California is crazy. Last fee hike it make my 2005 motorcycle cost to 140, which it’s double than before.
