California to Colorado, Mid-August, 2016

Hey everyone -

I'm driving from the Bay Area back to Colorado Springs to start my second year of college in the fall. Would anyone be interested in turning the drive into a bit of an overland trip? The TAT is supposed to be mostly runnable in 4x4s and runs from Oregon to Colorado, so I was thinking about potentially doing some of that and maybe some other detours in Utah. I would probably be leaving San Francisco ~August 18-19 or so and need to get to the Springs by the 28th.

I should also put it in here that I'm very new to offroading and will be trying to cut my teeth a bit this summer but I'm a total beginner. I'd love some more experienced people to join for the trip!
