I have been going back and forth on options for the bed.........I have a 63 QT ARB fridge and with the toneau cover and tent not a lot of room and options. I have looked at Cargoglide and similar products, but due to the height it just would not work.

So today I ordered the ultimate set up........... Just placed my order with Goose Gear! I have used their gear in my Jeep and the fit, finish and quality is outstanding. As with the rest of this build, I want to do it right the first time. I am going with the Tacoma plate, driver side drawer and the fridge slide on the passenger side. I think it will be awesome............

That's my favorite model of the James Baroud tent. Love their stuff, the only truly weather resistant rooftop tents I'd wager.

On 11/19/2017 I ordered everything from Filthy Motorsports...........I knew the agony of waiting would be on the kings, they finally arrived on 2/5/2018.

I wasted no time and made an appointment to get everything installed. Jason @Speed Freek is several hours from me so the plan was to head down there and get a hotel room while everything was completed. When we talked he said it would be at least 2 days due to the amount of work it would take on the rear with the Total Chaos shock relo and bump stop kits.

    Day 1 Replace front coil-overs and UCA's

Next was time for the Cab Mount Chop (CMC). I went with 265 75 16 Hankook Mud Terrain tires. I had these on my Jeep and I love them. I did not want 285's for several reasons..........gas mileage (my Daily driver), wear and tear on front end parts. For the stuff I do I think the tire size is perfect and looks great IMO. However I decided to get the CMC done for extra clearance off-road. On a stock lift the tires did rub.......

I think we are all hesitant getting this mod done especially on a new truck.......my truck has 7000 miles on it and it is getting cut up. However Jason is awesome. His attention to detail and quality of work is outstanding. He treats the truck as his own and takes his time with everything so it is perfect. I could not be happier with how it turned out. It looks like it came straight from the Toyota factory.

Starting on the rear.............Still day 1. Front is complete! The rear was stated and things were getting fun. All stock parts in the rear were being removed and cut off ......

Again a new truck but after seeing his work on the front I was not worried. Total Chaos relo shock kit, bump stop kit, King 2.5 piggyback shocks with compression adjusters and Deaver custom leaves going on...........eventually? More to come on this.

    First lets do some cutting!

    IMG_1413.jpg 20180206_154058.jpg 20180206_154150.jpg IMG_1416.jpg 20180206_173531.jpg 20180206_173425.jpg 20180206_174618.jpg 20180206_172858.jpg IMG_1412.jpg IMG_1421.jpg

End of Day 1.............got a lot accomplished.

Day 2.........The rear requires A LOT of measuring, tack welding, positioning and REPEAT numerous times until it is right.

This takes time, and that is why I brought it to Jason. We ran into a couple of issues and I will touch on those, nothing big but slowed us down. Jason always found a work around and made it happen.

Rear shock hoop gets welded, bump stop bracket bolted on, limiting strap tabs welded and rear shock mounts are relocated and welded.........as I said a lot of work. Some pics.......

    IMG_1426.jpg IMG_1429.jpg IMG_1431.jpg

First issue the King 2.5 with 1.5 misalignment spacers would not fit in the shock hoops........spacers were 1/4 too wide. So we screwed around trying to come up with a fix. Eventually it came down to grinding the spacers down to fit in the hoop..........after that was accomplished all good, but it ate up a lot of time.

    IMG_1436.jpg

After that back to positioning everything..........Total Chaos is an outstanding kit with quality parts, however the kit is for 2005-current Tacos. I think they need to update their pics and literature for third gens. On Third gens don't go by the measurement for axle shock points or limiting strap (at least my case). This is when you need the person who knows what they are doing to get it right and as I said Jason is that guy. I think some shops would slap it on and call it good. Again this comes down to attention to detail and wanting to get it perfect, this is what takes so much time, so don't rush it.

    IMG_1438.jpg IMG_1442.jpg IMG_1443.jpg IMG_1446.jpg

The end result is perfect and worth the time and effort. Again this looks like it came from the factory...........

End of day 2, one side complete and just have to button everything down in the morning and get to the other side to get this baby completed.......

Day 3............Truck is finished! Man I can not say enough how awesome Jason @Speed Freek is!!!!!!!!!!

This was a long one and he did not cut corners or try to rush the job at all. He is a true professional, his work ethic and attitude are amazing. There are not many people who put the effort into something like Jason does and this is not even his truck. This speaks volumes for his level of dedication and professionalism. He is not satisfied until everything is perfect. How often do you find that nowadays, it is rare....... Thank you again Jason!! Now onto the good stuff.

Thanks, I would like to but due to the toneau cover height it would not work. I already have a partner steel stove. However looking at the Gofast that may work now............:D:D
