UPDATE: MISSING M10 SCREW WAS OBTAINED. I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE INSTALLATION. I AM ADDING A VIDEO TO THE THREAD.

    https://youtu.be/nytGDNJkCCM?feature=shared

So I was one of those people excited to see that there is a good skid for the gas tank and went on the long waiting list to order the skid. It finally arrived a week ago. Immediately I got excited and looked at my truck before I opened up the package and saw that my straps had the studs. So I called Caliraised Led and they didn't answer. It went to voice mail. The message said we are experiencing more large number of calls, we will get back to you. I left a detailed message 4 days ago. My message was related to will the skid clear the studs. They never called back Since we have the long weekend, I decided I want to install and if the studs don't clear, I will saw them off if I have too. Initial impression is that the skid is really heavy even stronger than my engine and transmission skids OEM plates. Anyhow I put the 2 parts together and proceeded under the truck, I removed the 5 nuts holding the OEM plastic skid and removed it. I reviewed the instructions and aligned the parts. I proceeded under the truck so I can loosen the straps and I found them to be different than what was in their installation video. My straps connect thru a pin on the inside towards the middle of the truck and the are bolted on the on the other side. They mention a m10 bolt near the drive shaft that is missing and not included This immediately put a stop to my work. I am so pissed off. They didn't return the call from 4 days ago and now I can't install the skid. I was so glad I didn't cut the bolts yet. I would have been really pissed off had I cut the bolts already. Very bad customer service and I decided to post here so people don't buy until they are sure the part fits their Tacoma. My suggestion to anyone considering is go in your truck and verify everything is exactly as their video is then commit if you think you have a match. At the end, it was missing the M10 bolt. I guess not all Tacomas have that bracket for the drive shaft. So the M10 plate becomes essential in the middle of the job.

It does say right on the product page that using the fuel tank skid required the TRD offroad tank straps.
With you stating you have a hybrid, does your Tacoma have those straps ?

What I have noticed is that almost all parts must be specified to fit HYBRID models only. I went with the RCI raw aluminum fuel tank skid because it’s lighter and lasts longer than steel. I have had terrible luck with both companies and will avoid them both from now on. It sucks because there aren’t many companies making the Gen 4 parts yet except them. RCI and even RC suck the worst IMO.

ARB Bumper, SOS sliders, SOS rear bumper, SOS skid plate. OME Lift. Some other stuff.
Most fabrication companies have awful customer service. I'm not condoning it just my experience. I will say that Relentless does seem to do a better job with customer service then some of the others.

In my experience so far, RC has the worst CS. RCI and RC sell and advertise products that sometimes don’t fit new models. RCI seems to be about 50% missing parts and bad fabrication. Cali Raised is super backed up and their CS lies about it. Hell even Rago failed to send me parts for my interior molle panels.

When you receive it missing and you find out out in the middle of the job, it pisses you off. But more importantly was they never responded to the inquiry it it would fit or not

More and more negative reviews of Caliraised. Guess I’ll stay away from their products.

    It isn’t about the bolt.

Your are not imagining. The comparability issue that I called them about was will it clear the bolts on the straps. They never called back. So I had to just take it to assemble it on the car. That's when the missing bolt issue became apparent, the the the lack of accuracy in their installation video that I referred to in my video
