What did I do today ... I put dealer on notice that when I come in to pick up new Truck that I want the trans fluid manually checked, all u joints greased up. check differential fluid.
I told them I was nipping any issue that might come up. Way too many folks with low atf fluids and no grease. Also said I won't put out rest of money for car unless checked. Seemed very agreeable. Did't have to pull corporate card out of back pocket....this time.

but i did have a talk with GM on his sales methods a week or so ago. so i think they know I won't take any BS.

Wow... whom do you think taught the sales people to be assholes?? You should have seen me the day I bought my truck. I was SCREAMING at the GM for giving one price and then adding sales commission for the 2nd salesperson when I went to pay CASH! I was pissed and ended up caving cause it was the truck I wanted and the sales guy wore me down with a shit storm of crap ... I was amused for a little while. Wifey and I just lets get the f outta here. The longer I stayed the more BS was being served up and it was getting tiresome. I was about to leave empty handed.

Yeah car salesmen (not women) are some of the strangest folks. I'm being nice...

    I would have.

On last purchase via a dealer (used) we were close on a deal, the price changed. I put away my checkbook and stood up to leave. Looks of amazement from all around the room (I didn't say anything).

Suddenly the price went back to where it was, about $800 worth of 'standing up' value.

There's no material thing that I need to own badly enough to be willing to be the sucker of the day..........

Don't worry Rick. They'll get the last laugh on you and find a way to jam it in your shorts with No Lube. So how are you going to verify that fluid is manually checked without physically being there to watch it happen?

I will have it in the air doing lift the next day and I wanted the checking in writing. They said they will do it all at pre check. I grew up doing this kind of stuff so I know what I'm looking for. they are very nice about it

All I want is that its in writing that they manually check it. They said they have no problem because they have heard of the issues.

Not at all. I"m not saying it be mean spirited. They are really nice about everything. I just said how it was and what I've read from everyone in here. I'm looking to nip this in the bud before it wastes alot of my time! Look, If you say, I'm putting out 35-40 grand, I want to know the fluids are correct. Is there a problem with you checking to make sure it's at the proper level and in writing? If they balk then just tell them you will call corporate and talk to them. They absolutely don't want that. They also know the truck I'm putting together and they asked if they could display it for the weekend after it's completed. Another thing is that they are doing is the 30inch light bar install and changing out the grill for me for nothing, nada, zip.
