What do you mean by " chewed up "

 

The long edge looks like there was a huge knot, approx 3 feet of it is missing 1/4 to 1/2 inch down the length of it. Top left in this pic,

 

And this? WTF is with the holes everywhere in sheeting? (Above garage in this pic) I know on some of them they ran a strap through to lift them up as some still have the straps attached. How do they go about filling them in, or do they just cover it with wrap and siding and think out of sight, out of mind?

 

I can't see anything in your first pic and those holes in the gable sheeting are of no concern in fact most gable trusses don't require sheeting for any structural reason , it's just there to support the siding

 

Ok thanks, I just see a fist sized hole and think of moisture getting in, mold, rot etc.

 

Thats attic space correct ?

 

Above garage yes, every wall has at least one though.

Is the question why they are there or a complaint that they are there?
Did they use the holes to place the sheathing?

 

Both. I understand the ones that have holes and straps, obviously they attached a strap and used the lift to stand them up or place them on second floor. What i dont understand is why, like that one over the garage has about 7 or 8 holes in it, if they're going to fill them or just cover over them with Tyvek and siding.

 

If its a big deal to you why don't you ask your contractor to patch the holes ?

 

I did he hasn't responded yet. Tyvek and shingles went on yesterday afternoon.

Oh no, you dont see thouse much around here. Front is going to be brick, rest is vinyl

 

I got Hardie Board instead of vinyl

 

They had the option for that, but everything's an upgrade.

We met with the electrician the other day, I moved some wall outlets around because I dont want them over vents/under windows. To keep it within code, 6 feet each side of door and 11 feet on wall I ended up with 4 extra outlets than on the blueprints. If I had just elected to add them they would have cost me 65$ a piece I think he said. So.. I got that going for me.. which is nice I guess.

 

I used Western Red Cedar board and batten and sidewall shingles , and sandstone

 

If you take 1 piece of advice from me , let it be this

Have your wife involved in the lighting placement and switches / plug placement
