Yes . In my case our house has a drainage pipe system inside the footings under the slab as well as the one outside the foundation walls

 

Around here, we call that a French drain.

 

I just call it sub slab drainage

 

I don't know what it's called, but the sump pump pushes out the water if it gets too full

 

My system is drained by gravity , no sump

 

Ejector pump. Usually they're for basement plumbing/bathrooms.

 

I think hes talking about a regular sump pump like this arrangement , pretty common in basements

 

I may be a little late to the party, and didnt read through everything, but the on center spacing doesnt quite have as much to do with the structure of your house as does the depth of your joists and span you are trying to clear. I do some structural engineering now and then, but to simplfy things from what i read on the first page your situation seems totally normal.

Thanks for your insight. Yeah they used 2x6s 24"OC and double top plate on the main floor one of my concerns were structural stability and sturdiness, but nonetheless the house feels great so I hope it lasts years to come structurally.

 

Just wanted to post a pic of the kitchen it's turning out better then I thought...they still have to clean the dust and microwave got dropped during install so another one is on its way

 

Also what's better stainless steel back plate for outlets or white plates??? I like stainless and fiancé likes white ...she says stainless looks tacky with the white centers
