Think I may have Parkinson's , my left hand shakes a lot and my left leg acts weird when walking . been noticing this for a couple months now but have VA Primary Doctors appt in November . what I've found out is the VA won't recognize any illness from El Toro for compensation

That’s tricky to service connect. I worked at a law firm doing VA claims for a few years. If you can get a doctor to say it’s “at least as likely as not” that something in service caused some current disability, and give medical rationale as to why, you can win. You’d likely have to push something like that all the way up to a BVA judge, which takes 5+ years of appeals, but you can win.

    Edit: Not legal advice, etc.

0351. My 1st MOS. 106mm recoilless rifle, M202 and LAAW. I was in the last class at ITS that was taught the 106 right as it was being replaced by dragons and tows. Probably one of the last ones to train with the M202's as well before they went bye bye. They were fun but had some, shall we say "issues". Last time I got to shoot one of those was at Fuji in '78 or '79.

...^^^... Good advice above ... "magic words".

I used to do help veterans with VA claims and we mostly won. The main thing is do NOT give up and appeal and keep good paperwork and do NOT miss deadlines and be patient and do NOT lose your cool with the VA employees.

FWI, look into the the Agent Orange Registry and also that mess up at Camp LeJeune.

Parkinson's and ALS are provable and I have won both types. Just google them and forums and you can find a good starting place.

Also, it is the luck of the draw (in many cases) at the VAMC and VARO on who examines you at the VAMC, and who adjudicates your case at the VARO.

After being involved in about ?? cases, I could tell you some crazy stories on what won that should not have won ... and what should have won on the first round and didn't.

I agree with everything you said. I would encourage people having problems to PM me. I am still doing this for work. Most of the time people are just doing the wrong thing without even realizing it, it’s simpler than you’d think. You usually want to give them a good letter vs. hundreds of pages of treatment records.

...^^^... Good luck to you and you are right about a "good letter".

Years ago ... it was best to bury the VARO with good paperwork and today "good letters" work better.

I had to quit because it took so long to research a claim and do the paperwork ... but I am super thorough with turtle speed :turtleride: too.

What about the chemical contamination at MCAS El Toro with TCE , PCE chemical exposure and RA 226 radiation exposure at my old hangar 296 with MWSG-37

My old squadrons hangar is still standing sealed up while the remaining part of the base has been torn down

Like I mentioned previously I'm noticing my l/ hand starts shaking uncontrollably and I'm not walking right . Reading up on this I might have early signs of Parkinson's from the chemical exposure. I do have a primary health doctor appt on the 20th and want to be examined for this

How would I file a claim for this and how difficult is it ??, also what are my chances of even getting a claim started???
