This is such a remarkable shot. Hopefully I can shoot something this tack sharp one day!

Still a beginner, but coming along:

I just rolled the odometer on my Nikon ... 9,999 images back to 0001...

So I shoot a lot - I'll probably take 20-30 images of 1 shot bracketing the shutter and FStops to get the 'one' that turns out good.
On a typical outing I'll shutter 200-300 images... pain in the ass to go through but I usually end up with a few keepers ...

Over the years I've come to the conclusion it's all about the glass - the better the lens the better the result... still good editing software
can work wonders on images these days... and the ability to push the ISO to 400-800-1600 and still get a clean image is amazing.

If I really had it my way I'd buy a tricked out Mercedes camper van, a Nikon Z8 married to a 24-70, 100-400, and 500pf lens and just go.

    This is a great thread, subscribed! I haven't shot in a while but I have a Canon 80D with 18-155mm 5.6 lens kit, 17-40 F4L, 50mm 1.8, 70-300mm 5.6 IS, and I think 10-22mm.

I like to challenge myself to do as good as can be done with a Cell Phone. Long time ago in the days of film it was to see how I could do with an Instamatic 110or one of the disposable 35MM Cameras.
Now I keep it all on my Instagram Account.

I've been wanting to memorialize the very first camera I had when I was a kid, which has somehow survived many moves over the last half century, so I found some period correct film for it (exp. 1961) on eBay and did a little shot of it this afternoon. A Sears Tower Snappy from around 1960 or so and two of the three rolls of film from eBay. This one shot with the Fuji GFX100II and the rare a hen's teeth Fuji GF 30mm tilt/shift lens. First shot with this lens. Tower_Snappy_1033_1500.jpg

Nothing fancy, just a flower growing in the yard, shot on an old school Canon D60.
Wife liked it, had it printed out on a glossy paper and framed it.

My first moon shot with a new Sigma 150-600. I’d like to do more astrophotogrphy in better locations but this was from my backyard in the city with plenty of light pollution.

Thanks. Super simply light on this one. Main light was an ancient Balcar strobe head with a 7" reflector with a flat reducing disc and super tight grid spot making a small pool of light and another bare head with no grid on the background and all shot with just the modeling lights. This one was really quick compared to most of these types of shots and only took about three hours.

It's a good lens. I rented both the Tamron 100-400 and the Sigma 100-400 and liked the Sigma better.

I find that full-moon shots turn out better the day-before a full-moon-proper, especially if the location allows for lower elevation shots
with some landscape background. I also typically shoot at high shutter speeds as well. I often shoot the moon as I can't resist.

That lens is a good birder lens as well.
