Thank you! A Navy brother at that! I used to be an OS2 on CVN 74 from '03 to '08. Thanks Shipmate.

Very cool! What made you want to switch to AF? My wife's a 2LT in the AF and likes it, and I work in a joint environment and all the other AF seem to like it too.

I was out for a while and was working out here at Vandenberg, so the AF made sense when I decided to put on a uniform again and finish my 20 yrs. The AF is a different world! Very corporate like out here (Space Industry).

I don't have any photos of my truck lately. As for photography I consider myself a professional as I get paid to shoot, and have published work.

    Camera gear:
    Canon 6D
    55mm 1.4 prime
    24-70 2.8 IS Macro
    70-200 2.8 IS USM
    85 mm 1.4 prime
    100 mm 2.8 prime

and about $12,000 in lighting, and other equipment. Some of my work:

Camping under the stars in Utah last week. Milky Way shot with Nikon D610 and Rokinon 14mm F2.8 at 25 seconds around 4:25 AM. Truck/tent lit with headlamp on red LED mode placed i the tent. Shots with the 1/4 moon shot earlier in the evening with truck camper lighting and headlamp.

Yes! I need to upload some of mine. I love Milky Way shots. I have the same Rokinon (well, Bower in my case, same thing) 14mm Ć’2.8 lens. It's a great wide angle lens for astrophotography!

My only DSLR is my Canon T3i that I have had for... 6 years. Yep 6 years and going strong as ever! Been super reliable, never missed a beat. Main lens as of this Christmas is now a 17-55 Ć’2.8 Canon lens, IS USM etc. It's very nice coming from the kit lens that got scratched. My other ones are the 55-250mm Ć’4 and a 50mm Ć’1.8 prime. I mostly use the 17-55 for general shots and 55-250 for sports/airshow/animals/macro etc. And the 14mm for night shots with the focus at infinity.

Just got this lens. Still getting used to it. Seems a ton of astrophotoghers love this lens. These are the 1st shots of the Milky Way I took with it. Super happy with the results thus far.

Yeah those came out great! I'd need to dig though my photos library and find mine but here's one I pulled off Facebook (compressed and noisy but hey) from June of last year out in the flint hills of Kansas not too far from where I live. Post processed via Instagram on my iPhone of all things. I'd love to get farther out with less light pollution. Utah would do it!

Nice shot. Utah has some of the darkest sky I've seen. Look up Goblin Valley - just SW of Green River, UT.
