Thanks. I'm in San Diego and I avoid LA on purpose, so it's not so well known to me. :p

I'm trying to find a good location that would allow an unobstructed view of the LA skyline that has parking so that you can place a vehicle in front it with the skyline in the background. Thanks for the tip! :)

Wont be able to get a vehicle to that spot. But could probably find somewhere you could in that general area.

Don’t have any photos of the truck but here’s a few I’ve taken. The truck got me to some of them. Does that count?

Thanks man! It is an incredible place. I love the whole eastern Sierra. The whole drive up the 395 is epic. And no I used a 16mm lens so the depth of field was sufficient to get the further tufas in sharp enough with the lens set at infinity :)

The Alabama hills are definitely worth going to as well. Right there at the base of mount Whitney, it’s an epic spot. I like camping there too. Check that out and then in between there and Mono Lake there’s tons of great places too. The ancient bristlecone pine forest in the white mountains, the buttermilks by Bishop, glacier point on your way up the tioga pass. All just amazing places. It’s worth making the drive all the way up at least to mono lake. For sure. Everybody thinks of beaches and desert when they think of Cali but I just think of the 395
