Well it would of been but we were getting ready to make a lock. It was in the fall of the year when we saw the lights though.

Well, I didn't really mean photoshop. Just saying that for me, I'm my own worst critic, so for every photo I'm willing to post and people go "Wow!", there are 15 more that I didn't feel were quite share-worthy.

15 more?! Used to?! Man these days I come back with 2000 photos and hopefully have 10 keepers. I guess I'm in the spray and pray business :)

I blame the models of course

Yeah. I might have been close to that last year.

I can't bring myself to delete...for whatever reason. I could significantly reduce the amount I have stored, but part of me wants to keep it there for future use or even for future use to show progression from crap to not so crap lol.

You will not regret going full frame, I started with a D90 to a D7000 and then switched to full frame for night photography. It is expensive, most of my lenses I have purchased used 70-200 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 300 2.8. Try to sell your DX equipment as a bundle to help pay for your new toys. Happy Shooting!

seems like an awful lot of noise for the 850.. did you raise the exposure and shadows a lot in post? noise reduction might slightly help you out here. Awesome comp though, ive wanted to head out there for a while now. heres a shot i took from alabama hills last sept. 5dmkiv + Samyang 24mm f1.4. Image is 7 exposures, 6 for the sky to stack for noise reduction, and one for the foreground where I lit up the arch with my drone and a flashlight. cant remember settings exactly, but I think it was iso 2500/3200, f2.0, 18 sec. thats what I generally shoot with when using that lens. I want to start learning how to filter out some of the more dim stars for a more dramatic looking milky way and sky.
