take it easy, and please don't drive until you get the okay from the doc. I was foggy for several days after my last surgery in 02/24. I was under the knife for 13 hours. Good luck brother.

Yeah, no driving for a week. Hell, I tried sitting on my couch and had to call my father over to help me get back out of it. It's easier for me to get up off the floor than it is to get up out of a couch or chair.
Good thing though, my legs don't feel like they are on fire anymore.
I guess it took them about an hour longer than expected.

    Geez thats some scary stuff.
I would be freakin out lol!
I hope recovery goes well and youre feeling back to “normal” soon.

On a side note: i go in for a EMG Monday,
maybe they can figure out this buzzing in my hands. It sure is annoying.

Your going to "Love" the EMG test. I just had it done with no conclusive results. My next step is for an injection in my neck at C5-C6 to try and alleviate my pain.

No pain medication, but pain is changing. Burning in my legs is somewhat back with other symptoms. But, I guess it is all to be expected with all the drilling, punching, cutting, and burning that they did (read the surgical report today).

Hope they gave you some workable info with the EMG? Be very careful when choosing a doc if they decide you need surgery. I had an ulnar release at the VA, then an ulnar transposition outside the VA. Release was somewhat effective but the transposition did permanent damage (meaning the VA wouldn't pay to fix the screw up). But, I pretty much said F it and went where they sent me. I really need to stop letting them choose.. ha.

always be that way, and it doesn't hurt to get a 2nd opinion before going under the knife.

Update: I'm doing real good still have some sciatica pain on the left side but I can deal with it. I will never be the same again. I'm not sitting as much as my old job that's for sure. I do bend twist and some very light lifting and all good in the back beside the mentioned above. I see the neurosurgeon next month for what I think will be my final one for the foreseeable future.
I feel fortunate that the last 2 epidural shots worked for me. If I need one in the future I'll try it again.
    Best wishes for all.

I'm trying to get a shot in my neck C5-C6 for this really crappy pain shooting down my right shoulder. The right side of my lower back is killing me. i think I've torn or pulled a muscle. Sometimes when I'm at the Dr. Office I feel like I'm talking to a card board cutout. I know they hear me speak because they nod their heads, but are they really listening to what I'm telling them. anyway, everyone be safe and enjoy the upcoming Thanksgiving Holliday. Remember eat, sleep and repeat.

I know how you feel, i told my pcp for 3 yrs about my numb fingers, finally i had to request a mri and a referral to a neurologist..
I think all drs are on a quota with patients and they are over worked..
i do not think they hear what you are saying..
I ve read my drs reports, there is written stuff that i never agreed to or said.
    Anywho Happy Thanksgiving
    Hope everyone is feelin better..

Not as fancy as y'all who got the full hardware set, but this is my latest.

Trust Me, You don't want the full hardware set. But on a serious note, I hope yours works out for you and give you some really good pain relief.

Question for you. Will this style of hardware give. you the ability to bend over at the waist and move more freely than this crappy fusion hardware that I have.

It definitely gives more movement. The wings on the top and bottom are clamped on and the bend acts as a spring to maintain the spacing while not completely reducing the ability to bend. Twisting is reduced because the 3 are still mechanically attached.
This one didn't have as much of a change as the first one did. I still have burning and pain, but the numbness is reduced.

I bought one of these in 2021 because I was having back problems. I was able to camp with it in my RTT and in a motorhome, hotels, etc... made traveling an option without all of the pain. If getting into zero gravity position helps you, this will help. My back is healthy now and I'd like to pass it on to someone who needs it, for free, just pay shipping. I don't know how much that will be but I'll check into it if someone is interested.
