So, I'm getting ready to swap out my steering ball joints, and was wondering the best way to go. Factory ok? Or should I get something beefier? If so, where to get better ones? I've looked, but haven't really found anything....?

So +1 to Downsouth! Talked to Sonny and the are sending me a new 5100 for free. They want the busted shock back to figure out if it was a bad valve or seal from the factory. They said This is definitely not normal for a 5100 to do this. So good news!

Yeah I have a dealership over in the Burg. I think I am going to take it over there and get a inspection.

Just bought the truck and I don't know anything about what to look for. (sounds stupid)

I thought I did good though.

Its a 2002 TRD 4x4 with a manual and a sun roof 87000 miles. Paid 13000 and I love it but I want to make sure its good to go.

Yeah I don't have too much experience with Casey. I worked at Pearson in Newport News. But a friend of mine tht I worked with at Newport News was over there. Not sure what she thought about it. I do know labor is out the @$$ though... And is ur taco a limited? Or is the sunroof aftermarket?

We will be doing a timing belt on a 95 3.4L within the next month. I can probably help you out with it if you are not in a hurry.

Where in williamsburg are you located?

Do any of you have a good local place to get steel? I would like to find 3/16" plate local.

I think the closest place to get DOM is in Richmond...

Its a limited and I actually have the original window sticker with the sunroof option. I guess its more of a moonroof though. I love it

I actually live over in Fords Colony with my folks right now. I have the 3.4 also. It would be great to save some money. I am in no hurry but I have the weirdest work/school schedule.

    Where are you in Williamsburg?

Guess I didn't explain it right... I meant the whole assembly, obviously a ball joint is a ball joint. I'll just go that route then. Thanks fellers.

I live in Adams Hunt on the other end of Centerville

I have no issue with garage space and tools, and a heater for the garage if it gets cold. The 3.4 is not an interference engine, so if for some reason the belt were to fail, it wont harm it

I work m-f 8-5 so weekends work best for me
