I've still trying to learn how to locate reply's I've posted and since I can not I need to list this again.

I'm wanting to use mickey thompson atz and will either use the 285's or if money permits buy rims and go with 315's.

As I seem to mention a lot I'm NO mechanic so it was suggested to put 5100's on to raise the truck. I just went out and looked at front and rear shocks. My truck is 2011 DC 4x4 TRD Sport Long bed. They are both yellow and blue (bilstein). Are these the 5100's?

I use the truck for around town. I'm hoping to have it lifted 2-3" and have fat tires. I really like the low fat wide look however I don't want to trim if possible.

I checked out toytec and since I have no idea what I'm looking at I do not know what I will need. They have a kit for $1159 (I believe) ultimate kit I believe and as low as $299 (their best seller). I'm to have it drive as close to as it does now once a lift is completed. In order to do that would the ultimate kit what I need?

With our trucks, going wide will require some trimming. I'm running 285's on a 8 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of back spacing with stock upper/lower control arms. If you look at your fender flare nearest to the door on the front at the bottom where is goes toward the engine bay... I made a vertical cut there and the rubbing is less annoying. I still rub on the front body cab mount. That requires tool beyond dremeling to fix.

Right now you are running low end bilsteins. Bilstein 5100's is the model number for an entry level adjustable shock in the front (meaning you can change where the spring sits on the shock to achieve variable lift. This is commonly referred to as preloading) and the rear shocks have slightly better dampening with longer travel.

To get the best advice, we need to know your budget and your preferences in ride comfort. I am running icon standard travel coil overs in the front and their shocks in the rear. It rides as good as if not better than stock. I wish I had spent a little more and replaced the rear leafs instead of using the add a leaf pack, but that is more for my long term plans for the rig.

Here is your ride comfort continuum.

    Cheap spacer style lift $2-400
Shitty ride due to lift being cause by preloading the stock coils. Slightly less shitty on the offroad springs due to their progressive spring rate. This is a temporary lift, meaning it accelerates wear on all four shocks.

    Bilsteins 5100/5150. $700 ish
Better dampening shock than stock, tunable front lift to balance between ride hight and comfort. Ride comfort will depend on the weight, length and compression rate of whatever springs you mount to them. If you are not doing front armor then I would recommend a 600 pound-650 pound spring in the 12"-14" length range. Front armor and winch may need a stronger spring

    Old Man Emu. 700 ish
Not adjustable however the shock is considered by many to be of higher quality. They offer a variety of springs to chose from to customize the lift to your intentions. These where my second choice

    Icon/king etc coilovers. 1500+
You pay for quality. My icons are beastly compared to the TRD components. These are often rebuild able making them a long term investment for your rig. The ride is simply amazing. I've rode in Linwood's truck with the heavier spring rate after market springs and the shocks still do an amazing job at handling everything.

In the rear either replace the leaf pack with a lift generating pack, do an add a leaf or an add a leaf pack. Friends don't let friends put blocks on the rear suspension of their trucks.

For 2k I'd go with the complete OME lift from down south motorsports. You can either then replace your UCAs or not depending on whether you plan on wheeling or just just having a street queen.

Id still upgrade UCAs even if keeping it a street queen, get adjustable UCAs to get a better alignment

I'm in Newport News. Let me know when you are down this way. A lot of this stuff is easier to understand when you can see it.
