Yeah, nowadays its CASREP this and CASREP that.... our budget sucks dicks. I remember the days when you would just leave shit down because there was no reasonable expectation that you would ever shoot...... Much like now, but with less money...

 

Thats the one cool thing about commissioning a ship, I precomd the Gravely DDG 107. We had alot of stuff that was warranty and didnt come from normal "Navy" Money.

Its so bad now that ships that are not scheduled for underways are being cannibalized for parts. And the budget is being reduced by how many millions of dollars this year???? Will be interesting. I cant wait til they start putting sails back on ships masts to save fuel.

 

But the NSW community has nutritionists, physical trainers and go on training trips to Hawaii, Vegas, Miami renting jet skis....makes me sick because i know how it is in the real navy. These dudes expect anything and everything free.

 

Good point... Not only do they expect, but I'm sure they DO get what they want! It is what it is though, it's all a numbers game. That's why commands change names every ten minutes.... Better funding, whether its legit or not

Trust me, the budget is cutting into us too. But to let you know, we have a team based in Hawaii, I don't believe I have ever gone on a training trip to there. Vegas, well they have cancelled out attendance to the Shot Show, even though it is in conjunction with a yearly weapons and optics R&D conference. You might be referencing the mobility training that we do as part of our work up, sadly that takes place in a little shit town well away from the city that never sleeps. We don't go to Miami, we do a diving trip to Key West, and we bring our own jet skiis. As far as the nutritionist and physical trainers/therapists, the "Real" Navy has them as well, swing by Portsmouth some time or any other medical center. We just have them in the compound and sometimes they deploy with us. The damage and wear that our jobs cause to our bodies, not just combat casualties where guys have to learn to walk again, is just a wee bit greater than what can be expected aboard a ship. Does it appear from the outside that we get anything/everything, possibly(though it is sadly not the truth). I submit to you though, that none of it comes "free".

 

Off to the range, hope none of the dumb dumbs shoot themselves in the foot. Not in a mood to work with incompetence today.

Yes I would run 4 ga for your fuse box. It is also rated at 150 amps, so I would go with a larger breaker or fuse than 100. This way if for some god aweful reason, you are running all 12 accesaries at once, you will be ok.
