    What did you soak it in? I have used degreasers before that make some types of grease harder to get off than using nothing at all.

    I honestly don't remember....but it didn't do a very good job. I also used a few steel bristle brushes from harbor and freight....

    I have always used "cold parts cleaner" - the acidic type. Its not cheap, and you need to be quick, and know what you are doing.

    Most mechanic shops and BIKE shops have an Imersion tank they use for bike parts. I have just walked in and asked nicely if I could scrub a few parts. The guys normally dont care and will let you do it for free.
    Also, lots of paper towels/ shop towels to start out with.
