Alright so after that snow we had i tore a cv boot, so i took it in to let CB do it im not down for rolling in the snow ya know. i told them to do an oil change while they were at it. i get it back later that night right before they closed. when it started it seemed weird jumper passed 2k rpm and didnt drop i just shrugged it off i get down the road and it start sputtering and throws a check engine light. so i went back and they said to bring it back in the am, so i did i get a call bout 2 hours later saying from Steve the mechanic that i need spark plugs,carbon flush and MAFS about $500 worth of BS. mind you my truck was running perfect and never thrown a code. i told them it was bs and they need to fix it or have legal issues. they said they didnt care and they would not fix it for free. so i told them to leave in be and id pick it up soon. i pick it up and its running great but still has the codes. took it to a buddies and had him run the comp for bout 30 min all good. scam avoided and 500 saved

 

I was considering the cab mount chop and now I have another question. My current lift is the toytec Bilstein Adjustable lift kit with 5100 shocks and the LR UCA's. Is there something I can add to that for another 1" to 1.5" lift that won't change the current ride? I would like to add wheel spacers and at the same time stop the rubbing of the cab mount and the front fender well rub at the same time.

 

diff off set rims if you have stocks. if you add a top plate from what i know it makes the ride alot worse.

 

already pulled out a 4x4 wrangler

 

What codes? Check the oil level in case they forgot to drain before adding new oil.

 

X2 on the wheels to eliminate need for spacers. What are the 5100's set at right now and what coils are you using? As far as rub, ditch the mud flaps if you haven't already and anything 285/75/16 (285/70/17) or bigger pretty well requires the cab mount chop if you want the rubbing gone.

 

He has brand new mickey thompson Classic Locks in black...i looked at his truck and saw where it was hitting and it was the edge of his tire on the cab mount...if he ran a spacer it would push it out enough to clear the mount but he would hit plastic..this is what i did on 285s so i just trimmed the plastic right there and was done......he has the toytec setup..Eibachs with 5100s not sure what they were set at but i believe they come preset at the .85" setting..at least mine did
