Calling all Virginians (Tidewater area)

Owner is a TW member and I'm sure he had no idea. Hell he paid to have the thing painted silver mica and it was on his truck when Randy and I picked it up.

It'll work for now, but I think I'm going to order a brand new ARE MX series shell in March. With using the bed as my "tent" it's going to be better to have the extra headroom and I'll have to run my awning off of a cab rack like I did the first time.

 

There are a few threads with the frames mentioned. So far, no mileage discrimination. I've read of at least 15 being replaced so far... a recall is going to happen. By replacing them so far... even that small of a number... and remembering I'm only counting TW posts... Toyoyta is admitting fault. Thats my take.

 

Thats good to know. Realistically, my tow package is worse than my frame. But still, there should be NO rust given the usage and year of my vehicle compared to others.

On a side note, wonder if the guys at the dealership would let me 'box' the frame before they installed it? :win:

Man, thinking about it... a frame swap is one hell of a job!!!!

 

Exactly why I would want to box it before. I wanted to box my frame anyways and have been brain storming how I was going to be able to do it with the limited space I have. If they are going to do the swap anyways, wonder if I could use the parking lot for a day and weld her up, grind her clean, then repaint/ treat her the way I want. I'm sure some of the techs would point and steer me in the right direction as to where I could and couldn't put holes or whatever for where they would need access to .

I know I was told I have one ceases LCA arm bolt too. Wonder if they would try to charge me on that pickle of a situation.

Do you have a local tire shop--that you trust not to dick you around--that can assess whether it is an intentional cut or manufacturer defect?

 

I know for a fact it wasn't cut by someone. I live in bfe

If you've been driving on any gravel forest roads or anything with a culvert could be a piece of rebar where concrete is crumbling.

Seen it down in Mount Rogers NRA on forest roads.
