    Im a long term prius hater but a few weeks ago on travel, had a new prius for a rental and actually enjoyed it. After a week of city/highway driving, had to fill it up 1.6 gal's before turning in. Also had decent accel when you want it :cool:

    You can't go wrong with a Honda Civic either...excellent gas mileage,reliable, resale value and peppy when you need it to be.

    We get about 20mpg around town and 30mpg highway with the Santa Fe Sport turbo. The 2.4 liter supposedly gets a little better mileage, but with less horsepower. The mileage we're getting is real world, the wife does mostly short trips around town and a couple of long trips to Michigan last summer and Florida earlier this year for the highway mileage. And it has a lot of "get up and go".

    There are a lot of nice smaller cars out there for sure with great gas mileage, but I'm too tall for most of them, and I need some "elbow room" to be comfortable. I know the Subaru's are real good cars and very capable, I was just not impressed with the interiors compared to the other SUV / CUV's. Just had the 7500 mile service done on the Santa Fe, no complaints.

    Nope. SI is fun too if you like stick (not ground breaking MPG's though).
