ah, got ya...I have a similar problem until I can run new cable. the big starter cable reached but the smaller stock ones with the in-line fuse was too short and I had to attach that one to the smaller positive post. anyone know if this can cause an issue with the battery? I don't know shit about electric...thanks

The grease is conductive. Lots of opl use on their ground points to prevent corrosion but also increase the contact area for better connectivity. Not exactly needed unless you can't get a good contact.

If you're running the same battery, I think you should be fine, the starter is your biggest draw on the battery. I wouldn't say it's ideal, but you should be OK temporarily.

x2. Seems like it would be good to use on CB mounts and such to ensure a decent ground. I had a heck of a time with mine having to grind off a ton of paint.

If you're just trying to prevent corrosion use Dielectric grease. It's non-conductive - the pressure from the contact points will squish the grease aside, the grease "seals" the contact/cannon plug from corrosion.

Fun reading on greases and electricity.

No worries on the welding. Not in a hurry.

Good read on the grease

I generally use dielectric grease but always saw/heard of using the antiseize for ground point. Never needed to test the theory; all my connectors seem to work just fine :notsure:

I needed more conductivity..... I may use some permatex dielectric to keep the bar from rusting... I just needed to clean up the surface of the metal, i hit it with some sandpaper where the rings are making contact and she's happy now.

fyi to anyone who cares. regular bearing/tube grease does the same thing. My father has been using it on batt terminals forever. They never corrode. I do the same
