Need to press the remnant of the axle out of this. There is an internal c clip in there that you have to break with the press.

 

He's working till 5:30 ish tomorrow. Press is in his home garage

 

I'm going to see if they have a press I can use at work at the motor pool. If not I'll owe Ron a case of beer...I'll let you know. Thanks mang

I didn't know it was gonna be such a pain, didn't start on it til last night.

Honestly not much to doing these.. I was nervous because the total chaos instructions have all sorts of warnings on the difficulty level. It's been more annoying then difficult. If your just doing boots it will be an easy job.

 

Well, one boot is torn, but I want to break them down and actually rebuild if they sell the parts to do it.

I hate when videos make shit look so easy. That one, they guy just slams it down in a pipe a few times and it releases.

 

Did I miss where you broke this wheeling? Just thought you were doing LT mod.

The toyota parts kit comes with new clamps/clips, boots and grease packets. You may be able to get new bearing for the tulips but I'm sure they wear into each other so if the housings are toast it's time for a new assembly. They'd have to be really contaminated for that though.

Pipe trick was that easy for one of mine. Lol

Haha cv said SNAP. You have to cut the axle to get the cage/balls out of the outer joint if the slide hammer pipe thing doesn't work.

Hmmm, mine didn't seem bad, sure would be reassuring though to replace the bearings, and throw the high angle boots on.

I've got the Napa janks in there now, limited lifetime... Was gonna do the remans, they had a 3 year warranty, said fug it.

I know it's a pain in the balls sometimes, snap a few pics of the reassembly process for us if you can. I'm the type person that doesn't like to stop and clean my hands to grab the camera so I understand if you don't.

 

Well because I had to tear the cv down completely they are getting cleaned up bc of metal particulate. I'll get some pics of the components before I grease er up.
