2 of the guys in our group over here have them, and I've seen a handful on the roads already. I really don't see all the fuss. It's not like a complete makeover, still a Yota, still a great truck. The grill that has so much attention... that's what all the mfr's do, put in a new grill... make it bigger on trucks, sleeker on cars. WOW. The engine... time will tell. The crawl... have you heard it??? Geezus, what a nightmare.

I'm not knocking it at all... just saying it's just not that different, and for the $, I'd be afraid to get it scratched all over again unlike my current ride that just met a cinder block wall . Put in a diesel or v8! Give some massive springs....

    Stock - for the moment
Alrighty folks, as the money has been sitting in the bank after the totaling of my truck, I'm starting to second guess going the King Suspension route. That's a fantastic kit, which I "could" get, but in reality it may prove overkill for what I would be using the truck for. 99% of the off-roading I would be doing would be to get to a mountainbike/dirtbike trail head and or camping. So - do any of you have any positive comments regarding Downsouthmotorsports.com full OME kit? Would I still need TC UCAs? Thanks!!!

I'll also throw another idea out there: ADS Racing coil overs instead of Kings. I like my ICON's but if I were to redo my front set up I'd have probably gone to ADS.

Any 1st gen's interested in a in-bed tire carrier with light tabs and hilift mount?

Yeah I thought it was an interesting combo as well. I really couldn't imagine loading it to with gear and passengers expecting that 4 banger to do work. My father has a 2013 reg cab 2.7 and I just can't imagine it being asked to move more truck then that.

From what I read, 2.7L in the 3rd gen is not that bad. They use a 4.30 gear and the new auto is much better than the outgoing.
