I have a 295 70 18 Nitto M/T for sale if anyone's looking for a spare. It's been mounted on a spare wheel but never used. Brand new condition. Let me know if you're interested.

I was wondering if anyone here knows a place or someone that can help me rebuild my icon coilovers. I searched and it seem fairly easy to do but I need a place that will do the nitrogen fill.

@ponethousand where did you get your bumps filled? I can fill them but doubt you want to drive all the way to the Richmond area.

Looks like you're in VA Beach but there's a local place here that does nitrogen service for tires. They're Good guys at Dellinger's.

On another note, I'm not too proud to say that I'm currently going through a quarter-life crisis. I need to go wheeling. The lot next to Kroger is looking good but there's a sign saying "Trespassers will be prosecuted." I don't have the money to be prosecuted.

So I just took my tacoma to priority to have the frame recall inspection and reundercoating taken care of they found 2 holes. They said it would take 9 months to a year to get a frame in for my replacement utter bs told em I can't be up to a year without my truck and still be paying insurance and car note. Now trying to see what other options I have I know back when this happened to my dad's 1st gen they just bought the truck back

You can't drive the truck while waiting for a frame? Did they say it was a safety risk with only two holes?

If the truck is deemed unsafe, Toyota should get you a rental. For the 2nd gen, no buy backs just frame replace.

Got my truck back after the inspection but had to sign a waiver stating I take responsibility for the truck if anything happens to the frame before it is replaced and yeah according to toyota protocols the frame is trash and the truck is unsafe to drive

Toyota won't give me a rental because I don't have full coverage on my truck and I refuse to put full coverage on it just to sit in the dealership and not being able to drive it for up to a year I called toyota Corp and talked to the recall people about any other options I have im waiting to hear back tomorrow from them in regards to a buy back because looking at the cost of the frame replacement along with all the brake and fuel lines suspension and labor it adds up to more than my truck is worth it would more cost effective to just buy it back and let me put the money towards a new tacoma

When I did call toyota Corp today they said that buy backs would be a case by case basis because I asked about the first gens when this happened and buy backs were because frame weren't readily available my next ? Was 6 months to a year is readily available

My friend has a truck at Priority now awaiting a frame. He has been waiting for 7 months. Toyota's policy is that they won't let you drive on a "bad frame", no matter how bad. He got a rental though. The thing about it with him is that he bought it used at Priority in Feb, a 2005, when he went back for some work they informed him the frame needed to be replaced. They had to know it was bad when they sold it to him.

I'm driving mine brought it back home after the inspection. Just had to sign a waiver stating that I take responsibility for any accidents that may occur relating to the frame

Well after talking to toyota corp tonight for about 2 hours They said at this point they aren't buying back tacomas but said they do have another production of new frames approximately 2500 to 3000 ready to ship after the holidays but I have no idea where I stand getting one but hoping for the best with anyone local thats been waiting for one

The frame stuff is good to know. I bought mine from Charles Barker. Kinda Leary about taking my truck back to them as three years ago during a state inspection they told me I needed a new water pump. Well it's never needed to be replaced.
I have inspected the frame somewhat myself and I see a potential weak spot. I wasn't able to put a hammer through it myself. Pretty sure they will just coat the frame. I am fine with that because there are some rust spots and it prevents me from having to do it.
Did Toyota say they would give you a rental if you added full coverage from this point forward?

If I put full coverage on my truck they said they give me a rental no prob buts that's $50 outta my pocket more every month and my truck would just sit at the dealership until it's fixed while I'm still paying insurance loan payments property tax and tags on it not worth it to me to pay over $5000 in a years times and not drive my truck I'm being sceptical about the time frame based on what hearing from others waiting on frames

My son works at Gloucester Toyota and to hear him tell it he has done nothing but frame swaps since early summer and has 6 ID'd awaiting the frames to come in. He asked me to point anyone who needed it to him.. He's a top tech and has exclusive preference from management the as the frame guy. He's got it down to a science and has not had a single call back or complaint.

Gloucester is a good ways away but if it's for a tech that can be trusted then it's probably worth it.
