Don't remember installing them backwards.. Do remember that I didn't check the torque before a wheeling trip.

I thought you put the bolts in backwards so it was easier (bolt head facing down) and when the nut fell off, the bolt began to back out :notsure:

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Anyone interested in a dog? I took in a beautiful Rott/Bulldog mix a year ago that was living in some pretty shitty conditions without any medical care at all in her life. We spent a year getting her healthy and happy but she has started to become too much for my wife to handle while I am gone from home. She is 7 years old and an absolutely beautiful dog that is always looking for affection from people. She does well with children and other dogs (as long as they are similar in size...she is a bit of a bully to smaller females). She has not been spayed, we couldn't do any surgeries until we got her clean bill of health...which she now has as of the 29th of December. She is house broken, kennel trained and is happy even with working schedules being kenneled.

I absolutely hate to see her go as she has been my offroading buddy and has really taken to being around the trail and in the garage.

Please let me know if any of you guys might be interested in taking her in.

It's a leer shell for DCSB, a darker blue than SWB, listed price is $425

its not mine, I just looked at this shell, it's in decent shape, there's a surface crack at the front on the passenger side that doesn't seem to affect the shell's integrity, just asthetics, all the windows work fine, for the price its a steal - I just decided not to go for it so I'm posting it here for the owner!

I debadged it, had to work a whole bunch and put on a K&N in time to deploy. Now my wife controls the money and hopefully I have enough when I get back to get her washed. Soooo... mods are in progress?
Hey everyone. I am new around here. Bought my 15 TRD OR in July, moved to VA in August, deployed in November. Won't be back for awhile, but I am going to come back to a pile of upgrades for my taco. I am going to have the chrome grille surround, chrome rear bumper, and the stock TRD OR wheels replaced just as soon as my wife will let me. What is this stuff worth? I am new to tacos and would like to recoup some expenses here. I am also ordering the OEM roof rack, skid plate, coilover and maybe some sliders. If anyone can give me some input/advice I would appreciate it. Also, beer and pizza for labor when I do return.

Ok. I am just learning about this, I thought I read this was required when going for a 3" lift. Sounds like you are saying that it's not necessary. Correct?

Will they fit my 2012 TRD Sport? Are the wheels in good shape? Can you send a pic? How much do you want for 'em?

Doesn't do much for the 2nd gen. Not going to hurt anything, just a waist of time and money mostly.

Ok. I am not into waisting time or money. Do you think the add-a-leaf option is fine versus buying a new leaf pack? I really do not plan to do much off-roading. Just want to lift my truck, get new wheels and tires, but still maintain a comfortable ride. I am reading the sticky posts and learning as much as I can. I don't mind paying a shop to do the work but not sure who is recommended. That said, I will certainly compensate anyone that wants to help me do it. I can see from your threads that you all know what you are talking about, I just need advice and help. Thanks.

AAL's will generally give a more stiff ride. I didn't like the AAL on mine; rode like shit. The progressive kits (like the three leaf Icon AAL kit) are better but TBH, a new set of leafs is probably your best bet. Rides nicer and won't fail like the OEM's. OEM's are pretty much crap.

Thanks StAndrew. Are there complete kits available that include everything I would need for a 2.75 or 3 inch lift? I see kits with AALs on Toytech, but I don't see any with a new set of leafs. If I have to get individually, I really don't know what all I need. Again, I am new to this. Thanks.

I don't have a 2nd gen so wouldn't be the best to answer this but I would go for some 2.5" Coil overs in the front with a nice uniball UCA (stay away from Light Racing UCA's).

For the rear, I don't know the best leaf pack or the length shocks you would need to accommodate a 3" lift, but def get a nice set of shocks that you can rebuild.

Bilstein shocks are ok but you won't keep them for very long. Buy once cry once as @Slimwood Shady is so fond of saying.

Understood. Thanks. For you 2nd gen'ers, if you had a '12 TRD DCLB and wanted a lift and new wheels and tires but don't plan on a lot of trail/off-roading and want to maintain a smooth street ride, but also buy gear that is going to hold up (as opposed to the cheapest option available) what gear would you recommend for a nice looking, even/level lift and what size tires would go best with a 2.75 or 3 inch lift?
