Dammit, guess I'll have to weld some shock extensions on to give me more lift

I'm looking for a drill press. I've looked at Northern Tool and Sears, is there anywhere else in the Tidewater area I should be looking? Less than $500.

Depending on the quality you want. Harbor freight has decent ones ranging from $50 to $250 maybe. I have the small one and it works great.

Thought about stopping there. Quality/workmanship seems to be hit or miss. Same could probably be said for The Northern Tool brand.

For this price though it's worth a shot. I haven't had any problems with harbor freight stuff other than spray guns and such.

That, and the 17" don't look too bad. Price will be pretty good with a 20% off coupon. I'll have to stop by on my way back to the office.

Been looking there for a while now. Never know what you will end up with. Probably gonna try to hit a couple estate/garage sales this weekend too.

I have a few small projects on hand now but you never know what the future holds. I'd like to build a decent buggy before he is old enough to drive it... His power wheels is starting to bore him. My truck is also in need of a bed rack.

Wood, steel, aluminum, notch pipe. Who knows.

When shopping around keep in mind the lowest speed it'll turn. Most of these standard drill presses found don't turn slow enough to drill steel well.

You could also look into rogue fabs speed reduction kits.

Just hit harbor freight and Northern. The HF 17" actually looks pretty good. With the Mothers Day 25% off and some ITC membership price, it should be well under $300. 200-3650 RPM and a little drip oiler. Not much difference in quality, from a visual perspective.
